Cuban seems like a good/fun owner and he's been very successful in various endeavors. But in the NBA, he's got one championship in 20 seasons.

Mavs aren't head and shoulder above the league in terms of drafting.
They don't get prime FAs.
They were the #1 seed during Dirk's MVP season and lost in the 1st round.
They got Porzingis because the Knicks are the Knicks.
They play in an insanely loaded Western Conference.

Championships aren't a certainty at all. KD was arguably the best player in the world a few seasons ago and had to join a 73-win Warriors team to get his rings.

I'm rooting for Luka to win a few chips. His skills are amazing and he's super fun to watch.

But it's very difficult to win an NBA championship.

Cuban changed us from total TRASH.. total and utter TRASH .. I mean.. worst basketball franchise and it probably wasnt' even close.

to a team that consistently won 50 games a year for over a decade...

I think he deserves a crap load of credit. I don't think you will find one true Dallas Maverick fan that doesn't appreciate everything that Cuban has done..

Exactly this..people might forget how much of a laughingstock Dallas was in the 90's. From completely screwing up the "Triple J Ranch" of Jim Jackson Jason Kidd and Jamal Mashburn, to picking SAMAKI WALKER over Kobe, this team was terrible most of the 90's. My friend is a hardcore Mavs fan and we used to give him so much crap about being a fan of such a garbage team, but he stuck with them to this day. Cuban was a big difference maker in the transformation of this team

Didn't Toni Braxton break up the Triple Js?

Yeah, Dallas is definitely better overall than they were in the 90s. And they do have the most important piece of a championship puzzle (a top 5 player). But going from 50 win team to annual title contender to actually winning multiple chips is not automatic. My Chicago Bulls are a testament to that.

Again, I hope Luka can win multiple championships and I wouldn't be surprised if he does. He's got amazing talent, passion for the game, and a flair for the dramatic.

You need a lot of things to go right to win a championship. The Bulls made it look easy in the 90s, which is a testament to the greatness of those teams.

The Thunder had Durant, Westbrook, and Harden (plus a young Serge Ibaka) and couldn't figure it out. Even after Harden left, they had many years of prime Durant and Westbrook and never even got back to the Finals.

I'm not trying to throw cold water on the Luka Love. Just trying to keep some perspective.

Pop report isn't everything, but 5903 is simply too many for it to be a $500 card any time soon. Think of how expensive everything else would be if that's a $500 card.

I was also all over chronicles. Was picking them up for like $10-20 each and grading. Have a couple still at psa but have sold most. I don’t mind not maxing my profits, not a huge fan of base cards.

I have about 100 at PSA - mostly numbered or parallels like Bronze, Green, etc.

I member had a thread of mid-high end FS in the B/S/T forum and I saw it and was determined to grab it. He pulled it until Friday and marked it pending. I had until Friday to raise the money from my card sells and did it in 24 hours. Thanks BO member who bought from me.

I have the base majestic and yes that card along with black box elite are very condition sensitive, but they do not shine like the others and for basketball “we like the shinies.” Lol

Personally I prefer nice design over shiny stuff from time to time. I’d rather have the majestic blue than elite for example. Looks way more elegant to me and majestic dont pop up too often . Even base. But taste is different haha
I also like optic way more than prizm. Prizm base looks lame to me. I’d take all Luka , but would rather have an optic holo than maybe psa10 base prizm

I definitely agree on the optic vs Prizm because of the numbers. Those will always be available. Prizm PSA 10 is not rare, but very liquid. I picked up the best three copies of the black box and majestic base, all at PSA. THat product is very condition sensitive, check the pops. People are forgetting that there will not be a significant number of hobby only chronicles cards entering the market any time soon. Hobby boxes are crazy and not being ripped. Most of the blues will eventually find themselves in PC and in a couple of years, if Luka does what most think, will,be very hard to come by. When they do there will be bidding wars like we have not seen. I had to grab my Luka Blue Phoenix now or never.

Never even considered them, but it’s Luka. There however is a following for the Luka Dominion Base silver Rc. Limited to 199.
