"The election wasn't even called the next morning". Every network, from left-wing MSNBC to right-wing Fox News had called it. I guess we're doing the "well the electoral college hadn't met yet so how can we be sure" thing?

I'm really hoping for him to do the right thing. But a small part of me wants to see him dragged out of the WH, most likely in a straight jacket, kicking and screaming the entire way out.

I misread your post that is my mistake. I thought you had claimed Hilary called the morning after election to concede. Not the morning after it was called.

The rest of my post stands. It's not like Dems graciously bowed out and moved on attempting to heal the divide and work with Trump. They spent every waking minute trying to deligitimize Trump and get him removed. I hope Trump and GOP return the favor. And I am confident they will.

Bush had some wars to fight, Obama had a recession to deal with. Both overspent on top of the needed infusions. Trump was doing it before Covid, when things were good. He added 6.7 trillion dollars to our debt in 4 years. Obama added 8.6 trillion in 8 years.

Trump acted like a liberal, just running around maxing out credit cards. This is what children do. It's irresponsible and harmful to our economy.

Be happy you lived fat for a few years. But your kids are going to pay for it. Are you cool with that? I don't even have kids and I'm not cool with it at all.

Three presidents in a row. Probably four. This is how empires fall. It's always about money in the end.

Funny thing is, people on this board are complaining about biden being a socialist when trump is far more of a lib/socialist than biden will ever be.

The GOP needs to get back to it's roots and stop being socialists in disguise but I feel it will get worse with the gains they have realized in this election, they will pander even more to the left.

To be fair, that's a two way street. Let's not pretend that Trump "moved on attempting to heal the divide". Technically, he didn't have to because he had both houses of Congress.

Is a Republican president? Then the GOP doesn't care about debt or deficits, we can spend as much money as we want.

Is a Democrat president? The debt and deficit becomes an existential crisis to the GOP and we must cut every program in the country except for Defense spending, because according to them, if you propose cutting Defense spending that means you hate the military.

I agree he did not. He never had an opportunity to try. He was under attack and on the defense from day 1.

If he had actually wanted to work with the democrats he would have tried, attacks or no attacks. It's just an excuse for him not doing the right thing. Unfortunately his massive ego got in the way. I'm not saying Trump didn't face obstacles. That would be insane. But saying he couldn't work with the other side because he was being attacked is ridiculous.

Not sure honestly. He might have if he was not treated so badly by the Dems and media from day one. I also would not have been surprised if he didn't. Truthfully I could care less either way. The only reason I bring it up now is because the tables are turned and Dems don't seem to understand why Trump acts the way he does. I was not complaining after Trump was elected in regards to the Dems attitude.

Absolutely 100%

It's like republicans forgot what they have stood for. Trump was closer to socialism than any president in my lifetime, except maybe Obama.

Trump talked a good game but that's about it. His career in business clearly did not prepare him for the presidency. It seems like he has no clue about how things work on a national scale. Thanks, Wharton.

We will pay $375 billion in interest on the publicly owned part of our national debt this year. That's $122 billion more than Obama's worst year and $135 billion more than 2016. By 2026, because of Trump's policies, we are going to be paying $543 billion per year...just in interest on our debt.

All you Trumpers out there that think he did great things for the economy, talk to me in a few years when the bill comes due. I hope you enjoyed a few years of lower taxes. At least he bought half a wall with your future.

Trump is the worst financial train wreck of a president in my lifetime. He was that before Covid. And so-called conservatives praise him for it. Pffft.

I see the million cult march is ongoing in Washington. People that support overthrowing the results of an election and support a president that won't commit to a peaceful transfer of power which puts the entire country at risk. And they act like they are patriots and support America.

At least they are peaceful, for now. That can't be said for most gatherings for the other side.

So the democrats made Trump the way he was in 2016? What about his previous 70 years?

Its not about being socialist. Its about spending money to make money. Obama failed miserably at this. Obamacare, solar subsidies, etc. Not to mention a HUGE cash drop to Iran. Trump was doing very well with this, pre-Covid, which is why the economy was doing very well across the board.

We will just have to agree to disagree on Trump. You will never convince me he did a terrible job. That is just not reality in my life or my community.

Now we can agree on Biden at least

Bingo. "Have to spend money to make money" Seems some in here don't understand that. Surpsing since they are not billionaires lol

Again, talk to me about Trump when the bill comes due. If you're still happy when we have to pay for it, so be it. Anybody can live well while maxing out credit cards.

And yes, we are in agreement about Biden. : ) Hopefully he will surprise us, but I'm not optimistic.

The last study I read about how jobs are created with government money stated (and I remember this because my husband used it to win an argument with me, lol) that for every billion dollars in tax cuts, 15,100 jobs are created. For every billion in military spending, 11,200 jobs are created. For every billion spent on education, over 26,000 jobs are created.

Trump screwed up. It's time conservatives realize this.
