I have two things he told me he would issue refunds for last week. He has not issued the refunds and will not answer my emails or phone calls. So I filed a chargeback with my CC company

I also ordered a case of Topps Jumbo. I got the truck crash story too. It was the first time I ordered something from him. Blowout didn't have any. I have emailed him, called him, and I have not heard one word from him. Pretty sad that this has happened. Looks like I will be calling my credit card company too.

Thanks for the update. I was wondering what was going on with them.

What if you buy off ebay and use you paypal debit card which doubles as a Mastercard? I would think that would be covered.

I would not expect him to come through in terms of providing any 2009 Topps. I have heard through others his distributor held back the shipment because of debt.

If you buy off of ebay and use any form of Paypal you are covered as part of the buyer protection as long as you are within the 45 day window.

So i'm out 2 cases of nat treasures! Used my ppal balance OFF EBAY.
cant believe they dont protect people better!!
so getting that jordan auto exq box now means I only broke even ish!!
Before I go and strain my eyes reading ppal policies again, question- when using the ppal debit card/mastercard is a person covered using ppal balances?

I was extremely lucky. I saved a whole 2% by mailing him a check for my Topps hobby case. I'm guessing I was one of the last orders he filled. Won't make that mistake again with that much $$ on the line.

I pre-ordered two cases of SP Authentic basketball from Larry and have yet to receive them. I have always received great service in the past, and I know that he would make right if he could, but it appears now that he will not be able to honor the pre-orders or the refunds. I have put in a claim with Paypal, but it looks like there might be a line forming to get our money back. So I'm going to call my credit card company and have them do a charge back just in case my $1950 is over the Paypal protected limit.

So is this where those paypal fees come into play, other than for the business to make money but also where the payment will come from for all of us that purchased and will not get the product.

BINGO! Not that corporate greed doesn't exist but for all the PP/Ebay complaining that goes on it would be interesting to have people guess what the expense side balance sheet looks like.

I do know from experience on ebay in the past that paypal will only cover aa amount up to $200. This is the amount I received from paypal on a deal where I got stiffed for 2 cases of 08 Topps Chrome football. I did however get refunded the remaining $1000.00 from the seller about 3 months later.

I just got off the phone with Paypal and they informed me that with there new buyer protection policy, all dollar ammounts are covered if you purchase through Ebay and pay using Paypal. He said even if the seller empties his account and dissappears, they will reimburse the buyer and then go after the seller. He said it is like an insurance policy. Hope that helps.

Also a great tip if your order any Pre-Sells, is to pay via your credit card on Paypal. You can do a chargeback through your CC company even if PP doesn't come through for you if something like this happens. It doesn't matter who I order Pre-sales from, I ALWAYS DO THIS!!!! Very important fact. GDR

I do the same thing. Always pay with a credit card. I always keep my PayPal account at $0. I am always protected from PayPal and my credit card. I don't care about the 2% discount. I would rather have that safety in case this happens.

I also talked to PayPal and they assured me that if I do not get my product that I will be getting my money back. They told me the funds are still in LRCards account. Although, they did tell me it would take 30 days to process. Don't know why it takes that long?

30 day to process from when, the date the claim was made? The date that LR cards has to respond to the claim (for me Feb19th). Any idea?

It may be for a couple reasons. 1) He may of hit a threshhold on claims filed against him with Paypal and they may want to get Legal involved if the $$$ get too high. Plus they may want to see how many more claims come out of the woodwork. 2) They may be giving the seller some time to come up with the product for the customers. It does seem strange because usually once you file a claim the seller has 10 days to make it happen.

I am just sooooooo glad I didn't order my cases from him of '09 Toppps. I was going back and forth with him on the price. Just glad he didn't drop that little extra. The lesson learned here is buy from Blowout or don't buy!!!

I agree with you about buying from Blowout. They just didn't have any at the time. Figures on a case I finally want to get, and looks like a great product, I lose out on because a store goes out of business. I think I am the bad luck jinx!

That is the only reason I ordered from him was because Blowout was out of stock and I wanted the boxes quickly. So much for that ............

Wow this is all crazy... never had a problem with this guy and have to say he always had products that were cheap. I bought 4 cases of Jumbo about a week before he went live and he shipped mine with no problems at all. Guess I was lucky. Sorry to hear about the rest of the folks getting screwed. Hope you all recover all your money.

A group break that I'm involved with of SP Authentic Football was supposed to get our cards from there. It was paid for in full, then no product, no answers, no e-mails. We filed a claim, but who knows what will happen.
