People forget how much they print of this stuff now. Even compared to 2018 Prizm. Just look at how much Mosaic they printed. Plus they usually have Basketball out now. Panini are going to print this to the moon and back to cover for the loss of Basketball.

Only fools will buy at $60+. Just buy singles.

Of course they will. But paying high dollars (or frankly, any dollars) for ungraded base cards of any player from this draft is dumb. The only thing driving any of this is a) collectors who have no self control b) collectors new to the game who don’t see this draft class for what it likely is and c) a very, very small percentage of flippers who are smart and fast enough to be able to capitalize on the first two groups of people.

I’m not sticking up for people paying anything other than $40 max per blaster right now, but what exactly is wrong with this draft class (“don’t see this draft class for what it is”)?

It’s a class who has a 3 stud QB draw. As anyone knows, QB’s and only QB’s drive football.

I think the blasters will hover around $75-$80 once dropped at Walmart’s but they will climb back over $100. The retail markup is no different than the hobby markup, and people are gonna buy it either way regardless if it’s blasters for $100 or hobby boxes for 1k.

A burrow base prizm on release sold for $125.

But you are mostly correct about football in the long run. Adrian Peterson is the greatest running back in decades. And his rookies sell for less than they did in ‘07 when he came in. I spent thousands of dollars in 07 trying to pull his SPA RPA only to get Yamon Figures and Kevin Kolb nonstop.
I can now own that RPA, graded, for less than $300 which is a joke.
QB or bust and it’s usually bust. Take for example among LITERALLY dozens upon dozens of QBs, Brady Quinn.. sold for quite the premium in 07 ... I can own his SP Authentic RPA for less than 3 dollars at this very moment if I chose to.
Shall we discuss Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and Vince Young the year before that?
