I drove out there to get some and the cashier said the stocker comes at like 5 AM to avoid being harassed, which apparently had become a real problem. The walmarts close to me get stocked every Friday before the store opens. So I'm thinking this one does the same, but just on Tuesday, so I was thinking of driving out there to be there when the store open on Tuesday to see if they have prizm. However, on Tuesdays, they have the seniors only shopping hour from 6-7 AM (which is a good thing to do!), so I'm hesitant to drive out there as any collector who clears the shelves could use that hour to their advantage if they are a senior or have someone willing to do it for them. They do impose a 2 per person limit on each SKU (could get 2 blasters, 2 hangers and 2 cellos for example), so it would only take a few people to clear their stock if they have any. Think it's worth the drive?

Opened Half of a No Huddle today. TONS of color- I pulled 5 serial numbered (including a Blue Swift) in 9 Packs. Guy I split the box with pulled 3 including a Gold Auto. I like it, just so dang expensive to justify multiple boxes

So the rookie checklist is 100 players and only 24 rookies in a hobby jumbo with only 2 silvers in the boxes. My god silvers are going to be premium this year.

Posted this in a Herbert thread, but here are my thoughts on Herbert prices. Any thoughts?

Comparing the top NBA rookies for Prizm/Mosaic

Zion:
Prizm Base: $160
Prizm Silver: $800
Mosaic Base: $30
Mosaic Silver: $340

Prizm Base to Mosaic base: 5.3x
Prizm Silver to Mosaic Silver: 2.35x
Prizm multipliers for Silver is 5x
Mosaic multipliers for Silver is 11.5x

Morant:
Prizm Base: $110
Prizm Silver: $600
Mosaic Base: $22
Mosaic Silver: $220

Prizm Base to Mosaic base: 5x
Prizm Silver to Mosaic Silver: 2.7x
Prizm multipliers for Silver is 5.5x
Mosaic multipliers for Silver is 10x

So if you extrapolate out for football based on Herbert's Mosaic prices, the equilibrium price should settle in the range of $150~ for Prizm base and $770-800 for Prizm Silvers.

Herbert:
Prizm Base: $150~
Prizm Silver: $770-800~

Mosaic Base: $30
Mosaic Silver: $350

Prizm multipliers for Silver should be around 5.25x
Mosaic multipliers for Silver is 11.6 (almost the exact same as Zion)

The first Herbert Silver sold for $1,375 which should settle over the next few weeks when supply kicks in to mid to upper $700's. I've tried this for lower players in NFL/NBA and the math typically lines up for the next tier of players as well.

I know these prices are gonna fall once supply rises, but WOW initial sales are crazy!

I’m curious to see if prices from past years Prizm get a bump in value as a result. Been stocking up on 2012 Prizm just in case

Excellent writeup!

My only question here is that isn't it much tougher to get a silver from NFL prizm nowadays than NBA?

It was not easy to get silver in NBA.
Opened tons of prizm retail and only got 1 zion silver.
Lot of base.

I anticipate a bit higher premium for Prizm silvers in football versus basketball due to higher scarcity

I think they're the same scarcity- 400 cards including 100 rookies in each set

They are heavily limiting silvers. I don't think they are in retail, they might be hobby exclusive since they are also not in "no huddle"

I wouldnt waste my time trying to analyze herbert’s current price. Especially since retail hasn’t officially dropped. The few that have sold have either been shilled or are being bought by newbies that dont know any better. His base should settle under $100.

He is basing those prices off current mosaic and NBA ratios not the current market........

Yeah I really think silvers this year of the top guys are going to hold over 1k. I am going to get in early on them before the market re-centers itself based on the scarcity. The initial prices will be tied with the inherit NBA values.

There will be more silvers this year than 2018 and 2019(2 per hobby). And yes they are in retail(at least they are in blasters and cellos)

Retail sheets say 1 silver per blaster and 1 per mega. It’s either a green or silver for hangers and cellos.
