It depends, some people have PM’ed me already, but you mentioned Ben Wallace previously? Feel free to PM me or claim in thread and I will do my best to accommodate your request.

Correct, this came from Maryland, originally bought from PA then landed in NC before MD if my memory serves me well.

I have not been paying too much attention, but am I correct in the fact that it’s now on a 3rd owner? Are you searching boxes that have been not opened by their prior owner? Best of luck!

Great collection, great pictures, great write ups - thank you!!

Just a thought - can you do something like a running top 5 (or top 10) list of cards as you go through the collection? Maybe a blend of most rare/most valuable (or however you think it makes the most sense to do it)? It could be another fun way for some of us to follow along. Thanks!

Yes, I am the third person to be going through this collection.

The rookies will be the most difficult to find. We shall see what I can find via COMC and other sources!

The 00-01 Ultra Base set is so beautiful, but as I've mentioned, every time I come across cards from the set in the collection they are bricked beyond saving!

This box was an absolute dud outside of the Kobe y3k, Stockton Power Boosters and a couple Tony Parker Honor Roll rookie year inserts (not shown)

- While bunch of Ticket Studs inserts with (2) Wade, multiple Bosh
- A whole bunch of 05-06 and 06-07 Refractors with some semi-stars/stars (Think Baron Davis)

No TJ Ford, and Macrus Banks is the only non-lower level one

You already have so many cool complete sets, how many of these will you have to complete now? So much awesome stuff in here, looks like a blast!

There are some that are already sorted, so it is easy to tell which ones are complete. Other sets are scattered across multiple boxes so it makes it difficult to know what I've got. I am going through all boxes and sort things by year/set, but not sequentially sorting until I have everything grouped so that I don't have to sequentially sort multiple times.

Nothing too spectacular here, a lot of low end inserts, but was there are two complete 00-01 Ovation Base sets, so that was nice!

Thanks for sharing your progress thus far - I'm sure this helps kill some time during a pandemic!

I'd be interested in a price (if you're looking to move) on the Topps USA Gold Near Set, The Topps USA National Spirit Inserts, Blue Fleer Avant Cards and any other team USA cards you may come across.

Also, if you're breaking up by player, Ray Allen too

Noted! I may try to make a set of the Topps USA Gold, but everything else should be available.

- Lots of 99-00 Fleer Focus
- Lots of 94-95 SP including die-cuts, holoviews
- Lots of 99-00 Topps Gold Label, probably close to a set minus Kobe
- Lots of 03-04 Bowman Base, Chrome, and gold
- Good amount of 03-04 Topps Chrome with some RCs and stars
- 04-05 Chrome Partial Set w/ Dwight Howard but no Kobe or Lebron
- Random First Day Issues
- Elton Brand 3x3 Luminescent

I will tell you a secret that has helped me separate these cards without damaging the front or back surface of the card. I have opened many boxes of packs from these years. Do NOT force or try to separate them right away otherwise you will immediately get surface damage.

Usually there is 2-4 cards stuck then insert card, then another 2-4 cards stuck.

1) I laid each stack of stuck cards out for a day. (I have a desk by window) so I am not sure if it is from the sun, or the stuck ards just being left out to "breathe".

2) The cards become less tight -- most just become more loose without any surface damage to the card. If two cards are still sort of stuck together. Do it from the TIGHTER side than the loose side. Make sure you practice on cheaper cards before doing it on cards that have real value. Was able to save tons of cards of value that were previously seriously stuck and seeing them come out without damage! If you get impatient and force them loose right away, you WILL have surface damage on BOTH of your cards, the front of one card and the back of the other!

Intriguing suggestion. I will have to try this... that's willpower when you are busting open a box!

Thanks for an interesting first post.

I am not that patient with the bricked cards, I just throw them out, haha. You can tell which ones are slightly bricked and which one cannot be saved.

As a general comment, I have taken to going through boxes quickly. Way too many cards are bricked or stuck together that makes it incredibly tedious and frustrating. and I just throw them in the trash. Many of these pictures are the results of multiple boxes (between 2-4 sometimes) and I have been setting aside some of the 'better' cards for sharing toward the end of this odyssey. I have not found anything earth-shattering, but there have definitely been some fun finds. Hopefully it can remain somewhat entertaining as I make my way through the remainder of the collection. Thanks to Thanksgiving break (get it?), I think I am more than 50% done now! Enjoy this group of pics for now!

Nothing too great to see here except a partial set of Starquest Blues excluding Jordan and Kobe.

F ton of base cards here, they are all near sets. Some have rookies, others do not.

A lot of 00-01 MVP Silver Scripts is a highlight here, haha. A lot of 05-06 SPx and 00-01 MVP Inserts, as well as some random GU and autos. The Shaq Black Dimaond Die-Cut is pretty sweet! Oh, and another Yuta Tabuse...

This pic is better:

- More 98-99 Showcase, again including Kobe, Dirk, Pierce, Vince, etc. Also, more Row 2s including Pierce and Jwill
- A ton of 00-01 E-X which I was happy to find! If I can locate a Kobe somewhere I am sure I will have a complete set or be really close to it.
- Also got some 00-01 UD Slam. The acetate is slightly discolored, but not the worst I've seen

- The 05-06 Trilolgy Set in this picture looks Fantastic. Definitely completing and keeping it. I don't think I've ever seen multiple cards from the set in hand. Flipping through them was fun!
- Got some 97-98 E-X 2001 and some 98-99 Metal
- A bunch of Kobe, Lebron, and Jordan inserts from 05-06 UD ESPN. They never made that set again, haha.
- The Allan Houston Collector's Choice gold signature is probably the coolest single of the bunch
