The Dodgers can't get lucky every year. The just barely beat us in 7 without the Braves having a starting rotation. The good news is that I have seen the future and I have confirmed the World Series victory in 2021. Congratulations Atlanta Braves! We did it!!!!!!!!

I think the Morton signing and eventual return of Soroka makes them an easy 2nd choice behind LAD. Full healthy seasons from Acuna and Albies could push them past.

Made a deal w/ the wife for '20 & then again this upcoming '21 season: If the Bravos make it to the World Series, we are traveling to every WS game.

A bat is still needed behind Freeman. Hope AA has something up his sleeve. I expect him to pull off something that we are not expecting. I do not expect Ozuna to be back. Sadly.

Currently 4/1 to win NL pennant and 10/1 for WS.
It seems fairly unlikely that any team other than the Dodgers and Braves will win the pennant IMO. Next choices are Padres(6/1 pennant) and Mets(9/1 pennant). The only scenario I see where they really are a legit threat would be: SD- Huge seasons from Gore/Patino and Paddack resurgence. NYM- Sign Bauer, DeGrom continues to dominate and huge seasons from Pete, McNeil, Dom and Conforto. Especially if we get a full 162 game season and traditional playoff format, cream always rises.

I still feel like Arenado is on his way out of Colorado. I know it hasn't been the Braves' MO to go after long contracts like that...but if there's anything that could really push them past LA this year, I think that's it.

I wish! As a GM, there is no way I make that trade though unless the opt out is removed from the contract. He would cost too much. He is an incredible talent, but no one player is worth depleting a farm and top prospects for one year.

Not defensive. It was annoying when everyone was trying to say 2020 would be canceled, and it is even more annoying when anyone brings up the possibility that 2021 will be canceled. The only reason to even mention it is to pick a fight. Save it for a future 2021 season thread that will inevitably be started about that topic. And let me ruin the ending for you.......2021 will be played.
Back to the subject at hand. GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I see the future too. In 2023 it will be the Atlanta Gulagers.

Lol, yes, where are the oddsmakers on that??
![]() Seriously, that's a much, much bigger concern for 2022. Oh, and the thread title is incorrect and should replace "Atlanta Braves" with "Detroit Tigers". (Yes, I'm clearly hoping for a reverse jinx.) Last edited by salas1991; 12-17-2020 at 04:18 PM. |

Can’t expect Ozuna to be back without a DH.
So third year in a row we will try to get a power bat for the middle of the order. Without that no way we make the WS.

I have a feeling we are going to make a run at Kris Bryant. Not the guy I would pick, but that is what my gut tells me.

I think the biggest problem for the Braves is the loss of Ozuna. I don't think he will be coming back. Bryant or Arenado would be a help. I think a different atmosphere for Bryant will be beneficial for him. Hopefully Soroka is fully healthy when he returns also.

Athletic/DOB reporting Soroka should only miss a few weeks of the season, if any.

Let's just hope he can return to form.
