These kind of remind me of the 2008 skybox ruby /50. Equally easy to overlook in that they're both barely distinguishable from the base. The hobby has a history of overlooking rare but aesthetically unappealing sets like this but people have had success pumping worse sets than this so who knows.

Maybe to you. But some of us appreciate clean designs and overlooked rarity like this. Prizm base cards can sell for thousands, and there is absolutely nothing inherently desirable about those.

Nice pick-ups! Durant stuff has been underpriced (or unloved) for some time. Back in May, I bought the 12-13 Black Knight /10 for $35. His RCs have taken off, but there are still plenty of good deals to be had elsewhere.

I actually pulled and graded most of these with the exception of the Red Knight way before the HYPE. I thought they were unique cards and am glad I held on to them. I welcome any chatter...

The Giannis was selling for about $30 a mere two years ago. People knew about them, and just did not care that much. Someone then puts a graded one on eBay for like $2k, it sits forever, then others started trying it. HYPE is absolutely what has driven these sales, not an organic desire to own these cards that drove prices up. That’s great if you like them. Collect what you like, that’s what I do.

I think that's partly true, but player collectors still care. A LeBron red knight came up with a high BIN a year or so ago and I really wanted it for my PC, so agreed to what was probably a pretty steep price. Would be happy to pay it again because I haven't seen one pop up since.

So, funny story. I bought the $600 card. Had to have one. The next week I spotted another one (!) in an auction with a terrible description (at that point, I was checking all LeBron auctions) and I got a second copy for $7.64. They are both at BGS, but should be back soon. Will post them both on here when they return.
