LOL. Shreveport. That is a black hole right now. Funny thing though I have some packages going to Arizona that are stuck in New York.

Thing is USPS has been like this before and will be after the holidays and covid. Years back bought a card to ship from IL to WI. The card decided it needed a vacation so decided to spend a week in Hawaii before coming back to IL then to WI. While after that I shipped something out. Was supposed to go to a place a hour from me. Should have maybe taken a day or 2 days tops. Took over a week as it went from WI to IL then to MI then to IA then to MN then back to WI.

Should be fantastic for USPS revenue.

They screw us so badly the first time, we have to then file intercepts at $14per plus pay to have it shipped back. Revenue machine.

Agreed that there are some short memories. USPS is always a mess during the holidays. Now you add in covid and all the extra people shopping online instead of in the stores. Burst seams.

Keep the faith - I just had a priority package delivered today that I shipped on December 14. It was going from northwest Ohio to Denver, CO area. The main holdup was that the package sat in Columbus, OH for right at two weeks.

It didn't make it in time for Christmas, but at least it got there before January. There were close to $1,000 of gifts and it was insuranced appropriately. Just glad it didn't come to that.

Its never been this bad. Even in worst times the delays were typically only 3 to 5 days. I have no issues with it, the problem is many buyers don't see it that way. I have had one accuse me of purposely sabotaging his son's Christmas.

I have some stuff starting to move again as well.

District Heights, MD still has 2 packages stuck (arrived there on 12/17 and 12/18), but the one that arrived to that DC on 12/13 made it to me yesterday.

Still have 2 packages stuck in Oak Creek, WI.

Did have one package from IL wind up in CA the other day despite me being in MD, so that's fun.

Otherwise, things are moving again for the most part. Seems to be taking an extra day or two once it hits a local distribution center but I'll take it.

Agree, been selling on Ebay 11+ years and shipping delays have never been anywhere near this bad..

Another new phenomenon I've had this year is "misrouting" of packages to the wrong post office. They leave the regional destination facility and end up at the local PO in another town. Happened today for the 2nd time in a month. Oddly, I believe it is from the same seller also... not sure how that could be a factor...

I'm starting to have things drop off of my Informed Delivery because they've take so long. 4 total have now dropped off - 2 from Disctrict Heights MD and 2 from Oak Creek WI. Everything else seems to moving along just fine now. Just need to get those 2 facilities all caught up and hopefully things will be back to normal.

The smaller centers are sending to other centers. Shrevepot usually goes to dallas but seeing more going to Memphis and others

This was at the local PO level... went from Coppell or Dallas to Farmersville and back the first time it happened, and same to Lewisville today... it'll go back to regional again before coming to my PO.

Coppell is usually an overflow for dallas and a well known black hole. Even in best times i have seen item take 2 weeks to leave Coppell

I had a dozen packages scanned as delivered instead of accepted at my local PO counter this morning. Already had a buyer say I'm scamming him and he opened an item not received case. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Will the tracking numbers update when they get to the next facility or will it do nothing since they all say delivered?

On topic with this thread, I shipped a package to Dave & Adam's December 14th for $4,500 fully insured with signature confirmation. No movement since......

The tracking status will update but the ebay "delivered" won't clear. It's annoying. I had some understanding buyers and got proactive once I saw what was happening, reaching out to explain, etc. You might try reassuring them but it'll have to wait til the next scan.

Buyer should not have been able to open case yet unless the delivery scan threw that off but they will update. The clerk just had the scanner set wrong it happens

PWEs and things since Christmas have been moving well, but PWEs were not an issue anyway.. Even in the peak of the problems I had a media mail get delivered to California in 2 days. Was told that it was the priority and first class parcels that were having the biggest issues other methods were getting through faster.

In my experience, it’s only a handful of distribution centers as well. I actually had someone purchase a $60 card actually request it to be sent PWE (Ive sold to the individual many many times) and sure enough, positive feedback in 3 days. Despite being cross-country for that, a BMWT going to Chicago shipped the same day is still stuck in transit (shipped 12/10, Chicago is like 100 mi away)

Yep, had around 5 packages with no updates since mid-December get scanned again in the last few days.

The USPS re-routed many trucks to larger or less-busy processing centers. Many of our packages that were mailed from Philadelphia were routed all the way to Florida for processing. They usually go to Delaware or Philadelphia processing centers.

One Priority package that was only going to Delaware (a 30 to 45 minute drive), went all the way to Florida, then to North Carolina, and is now back in Philadelphia. Was mailed on December 15th...
