I have question about a Rodgers RC I have..... well techincally I have 2, and a bronze.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Donrus...-/133541041393

Mine aren't graded, and these seem to never come up (locked in peoples PCs?) so I was wondering what people thought a raw in say a PSA 9 condition would bring nowadays?

listing said a bronze out of 100 sold for $1600, I haven't had a chance to try and find the listing to confirm.

I ask because I thought about sending them for grading or selling one to fund a few other purchases since Im sure the market will be hot once he gets the MVP and makes a playoff run. It My be my best shot at maximizing profits this side of his HOF induction.

listing also says PSA 10 is pop 2 and total POP is only 4, so does the grade really matter that much? obviously a 10 is some great added value but I would think raw would be about on par with a PSA 9 (due to scarcity), is that way off?

That can be hard to say without actually seeing the cards. There are so many minor things that go into assessing a card's condition, with some difficult to do online. All said though, the rarity and popularity of the Rodgers cards you're talking about would definitely have good value. You could always list them for a fixed price amount, and/or attach a best offer, and simply gauge how the market responds. The better the high-res photos (front and back) that you can post, that fully show all the corners and edges of the cards (preferably against a contrasting background), would further any high-grade card's resale value, graded or otherwise.

The card in the link definitely has a PSA 10 value-bump attached. On the average, I've seen PSA 9's sell anywhere from a third to a tenth (or more) of the value of a PSA 10 (which makes it that much harder to value where something other than gem mint to pristine may fall out), with the large variance commonly coming down to how many 10's exist in comparison to the 9's or less, at least when dealing with things like PSA cards. As an example, look at something like a Joe Montana or Rickey Henderson rookie card (each having a multitude of 9's available, but not nearly as many 10's), and you'll see a huge separation between those two PSA grades value-wise.

For yours, the plus is you've some short printed cards, the downside is they don't sell as often as such, making harder to estimate where a loose high-grade sample may be valued. Looking just at past eBay sales-

For the Donruss Classics (non-auto) Bronze /100 (PSA 10, Population 3), here's the $1,600 sale:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Donrus...-/383745886391

After that, here's a resent base /999 sale (PSA 10, Population 19), for $900:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Donrus...9/133517531682

BUT... just a week before that $900 sale, at auction - another of that Pop 19 card only brought in $584:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Donrus...T/143789481050

It just shows the market is fairly volatile at the moment (and understandably so, with Rodgers and the Packers doing well!).

Closer in to your area, if yours would be assessed closer to PSA 9, the same day of the base /999 sale in PSA 10 for $900, there was a PSA 9 that sold for $400:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Donrus...3/293723802968

Followed by a copy of your exact Bronze /100 card (BGS 9) selling for $300:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Donrus...9/164471672829

After that, the sales drop down in price and recency, so it's harder to say what premium they may pull today, as the Packers near a playoff run. To best showcase this, here's another copy of your Bronze /100 in BGS 9.5 that sold for even less at $280, but that was back at the beginning of October, with the market since picking up a lot of steam:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Aaron-...0/303709645680

No matter how you slice it, now's definitely a good time to test the waters if you're considering selling!

Thanks!

Yeah being SP'd its hard to put a value on them with how volatile the market can be.

They look good but not 10 good. I wasn't planning on selling but thought maybe I could grab a few I don't have and help another collector out by letting one go but I may just wait and see if any of his cards pick up steam in the next month and then throw up a high BIN to gauge value.

I got almost all my RCs of his close to a decade ago so I'm not in any hurry lol.

Holy cow Batman! - is anyone in need of a PSA-graded Rodgers Topps refractor?! (pick a year, any year! plenty of colors too!!) - someone is seriously cleaning house; look at what Probstein just posted on eBay (62 different auction listings at last count):

I had similar thoughts/hesitations too (and this was after putting opening bids on several... one can never have enough IMO, even doubles, ha!!). But I figured if anyone else would also see these, it'd likely be folks here, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Should be interesting to say the least, haven't seen a spread like this in a bit. Likely more bulk similar to this to come over the next month or so (if Rodgers and co. can keep on keeping on!). Go Pack Go!!

Yep, no doubt. I’m a huge fan of earlier chrome and prizm colors of great qbs. Brady Brees manning Rodgers.... I’ll take em all

I can't say that I've been shilled any more under Probstein than I've been shilled under any other eBay seller (the few times its occurred where it was obvious). Is anyone here aware of any known eBay shilling IDs? (even if scrambled - what they are / what their current feedback score is?) I've noted a few bidders on several of these refractors that have numerous bid retractions, but nothing that looks like shilling yet. Time will tell!

On a similar but different question, has anyone else noticed what's going on with Rodgers 2005 Topps Turkey Red RED parallel cards of late? There's more than one seller's auctions that have simply gone nuts, for auto and/or non-auto versions for this color parallel.

Take a look at eBay seller *collectors*choice* - everything is a private auction listing, so you can't see who's bidding, but without a stated reserve, how can this person not be shilling his own stuff? He's listed an auto red multiple times, that ends FAR above what a loose sample should end at, only to relist it again (now for the 3rd time) shortly after it ends. As well, that PSA 10 non-auto red, are you telling me that someone ACTUALLY paid $14K for that card?!

[for the most common parallel?! ...rarity from that release is (common) base/gray, then (uncommon) red, to (uncommon) white, to (rare) black, to (scarce) gold /50, to (unicorn) wood /1 - yet suddenly the most common red parallel is now worth a small fortune?!]

But oddly, it's similar for a few other sellers with those cards. Check out eBay seller jamemorriso23 - sold a BGS 9, bidding up to $3,600, but then relisted it for BIN @ $350... so, was EVERYONE on the $3,600 auction a shill, or? (there were 4 bidders at $500 or above).

Then bidding took an SGC 8.5 for PWCC up to nearly $1,500 (eBay item number:143877136413). Haven't seen that relisted, but if this isn't some broad-spectrum manipulation of those specific cards, I'm honestly at a loss.

Guess I'm just going to sit back and watch eBay item number:203230469507 end in a few days, since its a BGS 9.5 with bidding over $8K right now, and wonder if the world has simply gone mad.

Hey All,

I'm working towards the Aaron Rodgers Mosaic rainbow.
If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

This thread shows what cards I still need:

I noticed that as well, seemed weird. White and black rarely pop up some maybe red is the best you can do for most? They are super condition sensitive (black and red show any damage more) so maybe it’s a condition related?

Cant say for sure but it did make me check out my red and it’s no 10 but probably a solid 9 (maybe a BGS 9.5, w/ 9 for corners).

Some of RCs are getting up there in price but that maybe be demand being way higher than supply currently.

I've not been paying attention to cards lately and noticed how much prices have shot up. I've got a handful of Rodgers rookies that I forgot about, including a PSA10 Topps. I think it may be time to move them, lol

Some pick ups this week. The throwback threads is #'d to 50. The rookies and stars is #'d to 799. The certified is #'d to 999. I don't like the lack of subs on the r&s but I got a good price on it.

Gonna be tough with the Packers losing Bakhtiari to the ACL tear. Sad stuff there.

Ok, Aaron Rodgers just wrapped up his 3rd MVP and there's 2 J. Allen threads, 2 Mahomes (who didn't play) threads, plus a D. Henry, Watson, RW3, - and for God's sake, a J. Hurts thread on the first page but no Rodgers. Jesus, BO. No more.

Here's one of my favorites:
