I also agree with 538 that Domantas Sabonis is similar to Collins. Sabonis had a sneaky great year last year and before you say that Sabonis isn't the athlete that Collins is, go watch some Youtube of Sabonis posterizing some guys. Dude can throw it down with the best of them.

Huerter....hobby meh

Good comps for sure. I think it's a bit unfair Collins gets lumped in for his dunking ability (his slam dunk competition appearance may have something to do with it), since he is an inside outside player.

But it's a lot easier to get lost in the hobby mix when you're not a legit 2 way player with all star numbers as a big man. Just way too many of 'those guys' to gain any serious attention once you've passed your rookie season.

If I had money to burn I'd buy every cheap Huerter card I saw. Not the case though

I don't get why people use Griffin as a bad example for Collins.

Look at Griffin's prices - not peak prices but current ones. Past his prime, playing in Detroit...his RPAs are about as expensive as Collins (around 900). If Collins does become a player as good as Griffin in his prime in a team with as much hype as Blake's Clippers, his prices will increase.

Does he have a chance to be as good as Blake? Yep. Will his prices increase if he does? Most likely. Should he be as expensive as Blake is right now? No, but that's the hobby nowadays.

I’m a fan of Huerter. He gets overlooked because of how strong the 2018 class was, but is young and efficient. As his usage rate increases, so should his numbers. He may never be a hobby darling, but for how cheap he is right now, it feels like a no-brainer.

Went back 5 pages and this was as close as it gets to an official Collins thread...

For shame, would've guessed the cesspool would've provided several official hype threads by now.

In honor of his polar baptism of Mr Allen tonight, dug out my blue ice from the pc box to get this thread breathing again

Nice card - that dunk was insane.

I’m pretty sure Shawn kemp has a pretty large following, almost like Jason Williams. I won’t be surprised if his stuff sells for more than Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Ewing, grant hill, or Stockton.

Jesus, Siberian13 is still suspended?!

As to the thread, man, the Hawks look good so far this year. The addition of Capela will really help them down the stretch.

^Very nice!

I should've grabbed an Optic auto before this year started, ah well.

Here's today's JC - purchased probably several months post-release for about $50 and sub'd through pc/Josh in early '19:

I been buying Huerter cards for a while, PC his stuff. John Collins I grabbed a bunch of his stuff cheap as well because the Hawks were really undervalued.

The team is stacked with Reddish, Hunter, Okongu etc. Going to finally make the playoffs and should see an increase in all the young players RC's.

Huerter's best ability is passing and killer shot. He doesn't get hobby love but will soon enough because he is a fun player to watch and the Hawks are probably the most entertaining team in the NBA right now.

Huerter can jam too

Love the black velocity! I was able to pick up the raw blue just yesterday /49. Felt like I got a steal at $75. I think it was only listed for a few minutes I hit the buy it now so quick. Lol

Love Huerter's game too, I have a few nice PC items of his that I'll share following a nice game. I think his passing/playmaking is probably the most underrated part of his game. And watching he and Bogi run the 2nd unit has been fun so far.

Thanks! I'm big on the black Velos too, and that is definitely a steal you got on that. I'm not actively purchasing more JC but I would've snapped that up instantly if I'd come across it.
