Shipped 597 US packages in December and only 5 were not delivered so far..

One is still being held at a buyer's PO, one to Nevada & two to Texas have not moved since mid-December and one from NY to PA shipped on 12/15 just got to Philadelphia yesterday..

The hardest part is trying to get buyers to wait & that they will eventually get their stuff..

Just had a return case opened by a buyer 3 weeks after shipping. Bit surprised to see the impatience and all caps message from a buyer who does a lot of selling and has over 8k feedback, but it was a $10 card with $1 shipping, so it went PWE. If the buyer decides not to be patient and opens a dispute I'll just refund and block. I've mostly been lucky with other low end buyers being understanding about the delays.

Thanks, great to know. I feel like I'm checking USPS tracking more than my PSA sub status lately.

Took a month to get a priority mail slabbed book I sold from Illinois (near Chicago) to the bottom of Illinois (near St. Louis).

And during that time I had to submit package searches for I think 3 other disparate shipments I sent. Hopefully the backlog and deluge is over though.

I have had a package that was shipped on Sept 8 never arrive. Another that was shipped Dec 1 never arrived. I currently have another package that isn't looking good. All 3 packages are from different sellers in different states. All 3 packages never left the sellers' states. So although I agree that patience is needed with USPS right now, packages really are being lost/dumped/stolen over the last few months. So try to be vigilant early on if you can and file proper claims etc. Don't let anyone tell you not to worry and everything will be just fine. I know it works out in the end in most situations, but I'm proof positive that there is a real problem.

I have some packages now at 3 weeks without an updated scan after hitting a distribution center (traveling less than 5 hours from me) which someone reported to ebay. Anyone have any luck making insurance claims on any items?

I normally don't ever look at tracking of items I sell unless the buyer says something. Its not worth the headache.

Could be more to that than USPS, that is definitely not the norm. As a seller I shipped 3200 packages last year and only one I can say with certainty did not arrive based on the tracking.

All 3 of these sellers are reputable. Two of whom I've dealt with many times over the years. In one situation tracking shows the package was picked up by USPS and that was it. That was Sept 8. The second one was picked up, left the local po and went to the distribution center and that was it. That was Dec 1. This 3rd package was dropped off at the po. Went to the distribution center then nothing for weeks now. The states were CA, LA and Ohio. So these aren't isolated to one area either.

Seems about right, about 1 in 2500 for me as well. 18,035 orders shipped. 7 not delivered BUT I still have about 65 not delivered from Nov/Dec

Just out of curiosity, being that you seem to be a fairly big seller, do you still hold out hope that the packages you shipped out in November that haven't been delivered yet will still make it to their destination? Just curious as to how much time needs to pass before packages are considered as never arriving.

I think they’ll all eventually get delivered but have no idea when. I’ve started insuring everything over $50 and that number does not include PWEs, so no idea how many of those are outstanding.

I do think something needs to be done at the top, this is all because of DeJoy’s nonsense

I completely agree about DeJoy. Things went drastically downhill when he was appointed.

DOes not matter once I refund the buyer if I have to that money is considered written off and becomes a tax deduction. I just move on with life. Not worth getting upset over things I cannot control. Same with returns I have 3 or 4 returns from the last year I have not even opened to see if I was sent the right thing back or not. Just not going to stress over it. Far bigger things to stress over right now.

The biggest issue with the USPS over the holidays was UPS and Fed Ex slamming them. COuple that with the other issues. That move by those 2 shipping companies pumped and estimated 50 million extra packages into the system.

I agree that normally a missing package isn't the end of the world. The seller refunds the buyer and the seller writes it off on taxes. Unfortunately two of my missing packages are cards I hit in group breaks. And both were very rare group breaks which the cards I was pulled are worth much more than the spots costed. Being that the breaker did their part by shipping them out, obviously I was only getting back the money I spent on the spots. So with the one package I lost around $800 after being refunded. The other one wasn't as painful but I still lost a couple hundred after the refund.

Even express mail is a mess right now. Not a single service through USPS should be trusted right now. I’m switching everything over to ups and fedex.

The one on the 19th will be delivered today. Just saw it got delivered as I'm typing this.
I opened a case on the Cle. package and these scumbags closed the case less than three hours later. With no movement.

I mentioned previously in this thread that I had a $4,500 package being delivered to Dave and Adam’s. I shipped on December 14th and there were no updates on the tracking number into the new year. No local USPS employees could find it so I filed a police report for lost property and also filed an insurance claim with the post office. Guess what was found 5 hours later and out for delivery today?

Needless to say my days of delivering high value packages with USPS is done. I’m getting a personal insurance plan to cover my PC and shipments so I never have to potentially go through this mess again.

Use UPS and you won't have that issue. For me, they have been far and beyond the most reliable. They actually demand accountability from their employees.

Most of my stuff is now caught up after getting 7 things delivered today. I have had two that haven't moved since 12/13 and 12/14, respectively. Put in missing packages cases on each, and one started moving again. Hoping the same for the last one. Of course that's more of an irreplaceable card but I still feel confident it will make it eventually.

I know it’s mostly low end stuff, but has anyone else been having Sportlots return issues lately. I’ve gone from having one in the last year to five in the last week that shipped anywhere from mid Dec to Dec.28. They are not huge amounts so I refunded them. I have paused selling on eBay and now considering just taking a break completely until things are moving smoother on the USPS.

USPS is running smoothly for the most part now. All packages I sent out before Wednesday of this week have been delivered including a media mail to California and a package to Hawaii.

Only took 7 weeks.
Of course 2 days after I refunded the buyer.

Did you refund them or did you do what Ebay said and let Ebay force the refund?

I refunded this particular buyer. Extremely patient and friendly. I expect him to contact me and offer to repay for the card but I don't want him to. $12 is worth running into a nice person on Ebay for a change.
