Default Any value sitting on 2020 products

The 2020 rookie class seems decent. Herbert had a great year, burrow was doing good until injury, Jefferson is a beast, Taylor, etc. Product is being ripped at an all time high. Is there any value holding onto a couple sealed boxes? Just sparking discussion

I would hold a couple boxes, like you said Herbert and Jefferson look great, Burrow was good before his injury, but I have a couple of problems:
Will Tua develop enough to be an NFL starter? He needs weapons around him, and even then it isn't a guarantee.
Jefferson, like you said, was a beast, but he has Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball, and the Vikings always go 7-9,8-8, etc and miss the playoffs, on top of that, they get a draft pick in the 13-18 range.
For Joe Burrow, can you really trust the Bengals to make the right moves, the first move they need to make is firing Zac Taylor. Not only that, but Mike Brown is always cheap in free agency.
I personally would sell some, because they are so hot, and keep some because this class has so much potential.
Just my 2 cents.

2020 is a bit different as all wax was selling for 5 times the retail price out the gate. If the rookies do not pan out it could drop to a price that is lower than purchased originally at.

Definitely. I don't think we're done seeing the 2020 class either. Two of the hardest throwing qbs in the draft haven't shown their stuff yet, Jacob Eason and Jordan Love.

people seem to forget that there is also tom brady in bucs jersey. Take a look at his 2020 panini prizm silver and base that are sold/still selling on ebay.

Bit of an overstatement, you can find most products at 2x, they’ll resell for 4-5x in 6 months before next season.

Yes should be a great class to hold product

Yes, we know what Charger QB1 can do. Bengal QB1 and Dolphins QB1/2 can still take off.

To be fair, he spent a ton going into the 2020 season in Free Agency trying to add to the defense. As long as they are smart and draft an OL and not go for a WR with their first pick, I like the future. Grab another OL or WR in 2nd round.

Bengals lost some close game with Burrow. Sounds crazy, but I genuinely think they arent far from turning the corner.

I'm sitting on a couple of sealed boxes and cases for Prizm of this year. I grabbed none of them at retail prices, but way below what's the average eBay rates / online store rates. I do think that with Herbert, Burrow, Jefferson, but also quite a lot of others 'sleepers', let it be Love or potentially Eason, or other positions, there's quite some potential. If one of them really blows up we should be good, but the combination of several very solid rookies can make it profitable too.

Maybe I'm wrong. And I am a lot, but when these boxes are selling at record prices to begin with how much higher do we really think they could go? I just don't see them holding that kind of value. Maybe if you held for a year or so, but I can't see people paying the crazy prices that boxes have been selling for that many years down the line. When everything comes back to earth I think people will be lucky to break even.

That's fair, but he's been cheap for 10-20 years, if he can keep up the trend of spending money for the next couple of years, then the Bengals are heading in the right direction, but I need to see more to believe it.

There will be a hype-driven price increase late summer before they even start playing next season.

with herbert and burrow returning and maybe tua improves and hurts starts in 2021 i think 2020 is a fine hold. 2019 is product I would not want to be sitting on with just kyler and rookie wrs from that class to carry the flagship for 2019.

The Vikings always go 7-9 and miss the playoffs, huh? Well that's not accurate LOL

Once you’re like me...and have had the opportunity to lose out on thousands of dollars due to expired redemptions...you stop saving wax.

not enough people consider redemption expiration dates when holding onto sealed wax long term (especially if the main attractions aren’t live autos) if you do, then bravo. but good point made!

Every other year it happens...…
2020:7-9
2018:8-7-1
2016: 8-8
2014: 7-9
2013: 5-10-1
2011: 3-13
2010:6-10

Don't know if you are a Vikings fan, but I'd say this backs my idea up pretty well.

People aren't opening anything. It's all going in some dusty 2nd bedroom. The break threads are a shell of what they used to be.
