I think you are grossly underestimating how many cards they receive.

Bulk and Vouchers will always be behind the new Regular and Express that come in.

I spent up to do regular ($50/card) in December and got back my submission mid-January. It sucks you have to spend up to get your cards back in a reasonable time frame. But that's the way it is now. And my next submission will either be Regular or Express because I just can't wait 6 months.

There must be at least 100 group subbers that sub thousands of cards monthly. Their warehouse must be huge to store all the cards!

My bulk order from July has been in QA2 for 17 days. This wait feels even longer than the 7 months it took to get here lol.

Complaining just gets your blood pressure up lol. Either pay more for faster speed, learn a lot of patience, or stop grading That is how things are right now. Those that keep sending stuff in all the while complaining about it is completely unproductive And if you don't like/agree with your grades, stop grading too...they obviously don't like you

Despite being at business day #140 now on a 20 day Level, she predicted all July CC Voucher orders will be completed by End of February... which is crazy.
My other non-CC Economy submission that arrived in the same box shipped on 10/01/20, for some perspective here.

She did also say that once CC Vouchers hit Assembly, they are zipping through quickly, which is pretty much what it looked like for bradley9999 in Post #6849 on this thread.

Also, at Modern Bulk level as of today they are clearing orders received on 6/30.
For Economy level before it was shut down, they are clearing orders received by 07/19 today.

I almost want to set up a money pool on which of these is done first...

15 card CC Voucher Logged in by PSA on 9/4/20 (submitted by me)
24 card Economy Order Logged in by PSA on 10/13/20 (submitted by me)
4 card Economy/Standard Order Logged in by PSA on 12/11/20 (submitted by Jewcer)

I know the Jewcer order will be finished first, and that is just sad.

Probably a good indication of upcharges coming. My experience says this is a good thing. However, I don't like paying premium fee levels with quicker turnaround times after having waiting months on end.

I wonder if their location is earthquake "proof". They must have 24-7 security there too...with the millions of dollars of ungraded cards they have sitting in their "vault".

Yeah, it must be huge. I'm sure they invest millions in climate control, security 24/7, cameras everywhere, checkpoints to get in/out, etc!

I think the real issue everyone has, or at least me, is that PSA keeps changing the turnaround times. Economy was at 4 months in September, what happened that Economy is now 6+ months on those same orders submitted in September? PSA knows what the backlog was at that time, how long it takes to turn orders around, and how many people they employee, it's not rocket science. The problem is PSA is just lying through their teeth and they don't give AF about the customers

The turnaround times will never be exact as long as it's not a first in first out and that's how it is with the tiered service levels. Any date that the customer rep tells you when you call in is at that very moment and will always change to later. Why? Because any time a higher service level order comes in after that phone call, that order will get ahead of your order and mine (I'm low budget and use bulk/value only). People that pay for express or super express, their orders will go to the head of the line ahead of regular, economy, cc voucher economy, bulk/value orders. The only way to really get caught up with all the delayed orders is to completely shut down accepting submissions at all levels. They're trying to hire more graders all the time...but that also takes time.

If one really wants a solid turnaround time? Then pay for express or higher. Otherwise, be prepare to be in a line where others will be allowed to cut in front of you because they are paying more to do so with no recourse. This wrecks the sense of fairness that many of us are brought up with, but that is how the third party grading business is run. For those that sell, we don't complain "oh...we've made 10-20x over our initial investment for these cards...way too much...we should share the wealth with the company that made it possible...PSA". If grading is such a racket, then sell it raw.

Also, when economy orders were shut down for the general public, those orders either were funneled to the approved dealers...or people needing that service then went up to the next level...which then puts all their orders ahead of any economy orders already submitted.

That’s their fault for not being able to handle the demand. This is not our fault. It’s all PSA’s. There’s no one to blame besides them.

Did they not just inform us 2 months ago that they created a separate "Bulk" division to expedite their backlog? Guess we should not expect results from that until 2024 maybe...

That may be wishful thinking? There was an email from the CEO Steve Sloan on November 4th talking about them acquiring space that doubles their space and that the space allows for future expansions including automation...but nothing as specific as a separate division for bulk grading. The only thing in that email about bulk was that cards made in 2017 would be moved on January 1st from the Ultra Modern price tier to the Modern tier (1972-2017) with Ultra Modern for cards made in 2018-2021. Maybe you got another email that I didn't get but I don't recall seeing anything similar to what you mentioned.

A message from the PSA President (Steve Sloan at the time):

8/3/2020

"We have completed a build-out of our operations and, in doing so, have created a new department for Value submissions. The wider, CDC-friendly operational footprint will allow PSA to accommodate new hires while adding capacity to this highly impacted service line. Just last week alone, Collectors Universe added 20 new hires as part of our growth initiative."

You have to excuse my ignorance, but that's what I took from this message.

Ah I see...so they put most of their new hires back in the summer into this new "division"...junior graders grading bulk/value level cards only (not economy, not regular, not higher service levels). The problem is that they're still do not have enough junior graders to overcome the amount of cards being submitted daily at the value level, despite the price increase at the value levels. Based on people sharing their data on here though, it does appear that value orders are experiencing more movement than say, economy orders? If that is true, then perhaps there is a separate "line" for value orders where other service level cards are not in that same line...which then means bulk/value orders are being processed in the time received perhaps...right now, they're getting July bulk/value out the door. So that maybe there's two different conversations in turnaround times...one specifically for bulk/value orders which may be closer to first in first out while a separate line for all the other service levels which is not first in first out. At some point though, I could see some of the junior graders being promoted up and moved out of this division to grade the higher dollar cards.

Was hoping it would ship yesterday, but it's being shipped today so I have to wait over the weekend.

Order Type: Express
# of cards: 8
Order delivered: 12/24
Order received per PSA: 12/28
Research & ID: 01/04
Grading: 01/05
Assembly: 01/19
QA1: 01/21
QA2: 01/21
Grades: 01/21
Shipped: 01/22

1 PSA3 (nonsense, I would've been upset if they gave it an 8)
1 PSA6 (also makes no sense for a minty card)
1 PSA8 (Seems harsh but I can swallow it)
4 PSA9 (I thought for sure one of them would get a 10, might regrade or send it to Beckett for easy 9.5)
1 PSA10 (Was the last card of the submission, it literally stopped me from going insane for getting a PSA3 and 6)

I will definitely take a hard look at the PSA 3 and 6... Potentially lost a couple grand right there and will ask for compensation if they damaged the cards.

So the $50 speed is called regular/10 day?
And that's taking around 1-2 months if what I'm reading is accurate?

Yes, regular has been at 4-5 weeks back to you for 6 months... though I read somewhere the PSA customer service team is now saying 8 weeks.

I truly do not understand the complaints. You know what you are doing when you send them cards. I send them stuff bulk, and do not intend to see the cards again till spring training 2022. Not joking. But I know that when I mail them. Don't use their service if you aren't ok with waiting. If you think you are special and your cards will be magically faster than everyone else's in the world you are living in a fantasy world.

Technically, yes its their "fault". But certain businesses can only handle so much business. Even if they expand. McDonalds should have fast food down to a science, but they get backed up when they have a lot of business too. Now picture their drive-thru if the cars never stopped coming. That is whats happening at PSA. I don't care how big they expand or how many graders they hire. As long as there is thousands of dollars to be made by sending them cards, it will continue.

Nothing will change. So stop sending them stuff if you are not ok with that. IT ISN'T GOING TO CHANGE.

26 Card Regular

Shipped: UPS 3 Day/Insured 12/8/2020
Delivered: 12/11/2020
Received: 12/11/2020
Research & ID: 12/17/2020
Grading: 12/18/2020 -> 1/3/2021 - Update, still in grading.
Assembly:1/13/2021
QA1: 1/16/2021
QA2: 1/18/2021 - Held up because one card got damaged. Luckily it was not an expensive card. PSA contacted me and took care of it satisfactorily.
Shipped:1/22/2021

Other than the damaged card everything was 8s and 9s but it's to be expected since they were thick stock PC cards. I did luckily gem on the downtown so I'll probably sell it to cover the grading costs.

All of this. Every month it's a new release with a massive retail component. Series 1 is almost here. Hoops is two weeks away. Prizm comes out in March. It just never ends. And as the cards become more valuable, the usage rate of the service levels above bulk will continue to increase, and turnaround time on bulk orders will continue to lengthen.
