got into in on 1/8/21.. thx again psa2pac
things i've learned:
1) things move so fast in the marketplace when packs arn't available.
2)there is no reason to get mad when you can't buy a pack, like it was mentioned before, demand high and it's still in beta
3) these people at topshot listen to the public, and they take the steps to make it better (i.e. limit one pack per purchase, along with plenty of other adjustments)
4) literally show proof that no bots are buying packs (but maybe bots are in beta also..lol). Still, respect for full transparency (looking at u target and wally)
5) you will not care about fee's after your 3rd or 4th sale.. I have no idea what the fee % is still, nor do i care, when in no way am I'm losing.
6) someone has to lose though right? I guess, haven't had time to think about who that might be.. Perhaps the people who join after Beta is completed? no idea yet.
7) Grade, you really don't need to flex to the crowd posting your acct valuation low to prove how easy it is. you took time to learn the ropes, but the key was really our timing. I also once posted my valuation, and i regret that now.. I was caught up in the moment.. just enjoy the ride, if people cared how much your account is worth then they could look it up.. it's not hard to look up anyone's valuation. you feel me? just focus on you and have fun
8) load dapper credits before trying to buy packs, save on bank fees i think.
9) start with packs
10) if you buy singles, I'd buy anything from season 1 .
11) cardboard principles apply 100% from an investing standpoint.. don't regret sales, have a plan,, collect what you like.
i've now lost interest in my own post.. do what you like and collect whatever makes sense to you

- Do what you do .
- My way of dealing with people is dishing more back.
- They ask they get.
-Stated many times, this was luck and timing. Showing anyone could do this because it was more luck and timing.
-people post hundreds of photos flexing cards everyday here.
-Congratulations on your success. Which is one thing very few people on the forum do, hope others success. that is why i treat them accordingly.

I never expected we'd have to be so overt about this, but here we are...I completely, wholeheartedly agree with Seven here. We can differ on our opinion when it comes to this product, or any stance in the hobby. But the ignorance and dismissiveness or defensiveness just unsettles me.

We aren't criticizing any person, my dude. We are literally talking about a new product/market, and collectibles with varying value. For context, my kindred spirit/MVP on this thread has been oldgoldy-skeptical but not abrasively salty. Frankly, I trust his take as parallel to mine. But I digress.

There's room at the table for everybody to collect what they want. And if you have the liquidity and the patience, and you like it-more power to you. But TopShot challenges too many of these for me to sustain my interest. Rather than continue to battle it out or look for a redeeming quality in its' customer base, it's probably just easier to show myself out.

Motivation is a great quality for success in anything you do. I set my goal of 10x and did it. Lucky yes, but after the first few days, the goals were set.

What i see in these forums is a bunch of know it alls. I see many topics and threads i feel differently about and do not understand why they spend money, make money , lose money or believe in a player, card or sport. But it is what they do, i stay out of the thread and happy for them.

Just look at the last two post, telling people what to do without know the context of the complete thread. You two do what you do, agree or not , i am happy for you two. We only know ourselves and what works for ourselves and that alone is difficult already.

Alright...I just bought 6 moments for about $40. That’s about what I spent buying Powerball and Mega Million tickets over the past few weeks. Now I can actually track this and experience it for what it’s worth...time to ride this down the hill or off the side of the cliff.

I dont see anything wrong with it, as you stated, its public information once you know his NBA TS name. People were sharing their opinion about NBA TS but then the ignorant ones with nothing better to do decided to attack him up to accusing him of being a "shill", "insider", you can fill in the blank. Its easy to spot because I have most of them muted from prior interaction and sure enough, the same pattern. All that was missing was

"What's your eBay name" and "blocked"

Again, one thing to share your opinion about NBA Top Shot and add to the discussion but another get personal just because you're a jerk. Screw those dudes.

Yeah...it is a bit addicting although I had to reload the site so many times on my IPad due to the site glitching and a number of my sales were cancelled/reversed because the lowest offer apparently was not available anymore. I will actually buy a few of the cheap packs if I can to see what I can get and see where this thing goes. It does feel a bit like a mix of an eBay auction ending and an online casino which definitely scratches my gambling itch.

Yeah, I got a little frustrated when buying LeMelo's, there was a lot of competition for the lowest ask. Eventually I just picked a few that were a couple bucks more. Be careful if you decide to sell, look at previous sales. There is a bug that freezes the "lowest ask" price on some of the moments. So it'll say $3 but that was from 3 weeks ago while the actual lowest is $30 or more.

First of all, in my humble opinion, that kind of mindset is dangerous. If you gamble with house money, by all means, go for it. But if it's money you actually depend on I do suggest that people start to use their brains and not trust that the ponzi scheme effect is going to carry on forever.

And to answer your non-question about fees. Dapper takes a 5% fee on every marketplace transaction. Eventually this period of madness will be over and then it will be a game about margins. This would be a good time to actually price the fee into it. To make it very simple, if you buy a $1000 moment and intend to relist it for a minor gain at $1040 you will take a net loss of $10 - if the card sells.

Made about 400-500 profit in about 2 weeks but think i'm out. Sold my rookies.

Reasons walking away:
- packs not available... i don't want to fight for packs. IE waste time waiting for limited drops.
- the value of highlights is too high imo. Yes, i had an Anthony Edwards Debut moment, which i think is super cool...but i'll take the 95$ and walk. Or 5$ for random commons.
- Credits fee's for depositing and withdrawing... eff that.
- Fun... but a time investment.
- Print Runs... they are printing tons of these now with the boom. Kinda risky.

Was fun while it lasted though. I think there is still room to make money; as i didn't have great luck in packs. Can't say i won't ever come back; but i'm out for now.
