this was a great point I saw while reading 10 or so pages back:

Management needs to wake up and find a solution to their problems before … eBay introduces the 75c tracking that will at a stroke undermine a lot of the pure cost advantage to a buyer of letting cards accumulate over time in a COMC account.

During my time, I remember there once was a discussion about inactive accounts, about how to handle them, what to do, etc, etc - but, nothing ever came of it. I’ve always wondered about the accounts that belong to people who have died. I imagine their account just keeps getting drained until it’s empty and the cards will sit there forever.

They almost need a legacy feature of some kind but I’m not even sure how that would work.

They should consider a way though to follow up with inactives though.

Crazy thing is I left my site alone for a few years because I got out of collecting. I’m completely forgot about it and was paying a few cents each month for years haha.

I’m back and sending stuff into the site again but my inactivity made me wonder what happens to accounts that haven’t been touched in years.

I would think those inactive accounts are, like you said, being slowly drained and even going into the negative with monthly fees...and, those "dead cards" (to coin a phrase) are taking up space that those with active accounts are paying for.

Tim's a database guru, there's got to be a way to pull up a list of accounts that haven't been accessed for x months/years, reach out to those users and try to develop some kind of action plan for those cards/ports. I know it's not a high priority, but it's something that could get bigger as time passes and the user base gets older...

Maybe he is still doing that? But to think they are not making money on shipping is foolish. I have had 3-4 orders all shipped in the same Bubble mailer and never received a refund.

That they need 4 months to ship a order (MAYBE) nobody is talking about that. Maybe they should offer FREE shipping for there terrible service!!

I can ship 50 cards to the States 3,70 Euro.
Up to 400 cards for 7,20 Euro. Then add 3,70 for tracking.

That shipping prices are the same price around the world, COMC is actually making money on overseas shipments.

I also see no reason to pay more money for shipping to pack cards faster.
Thats there job.
What exactly is there business.
Take pictures , List cards, Ship cards. Thats IT nothing else.
No brain surgery there.

Brewcrew! it's always a pleasure to chat with you, but I gotta let you know your numbers are way off...the prices you quote are shipping to the States - have you checked what the USPS charges for shipping to Germany? The cheapest option starts at approximately $40 USD or $33 Euro. And, if you go with someone like FedEx or UPS, it goes up.

Between the cost of supplies (envelopes/boxes, labels, packing materials, etc), postage, and manpower, shipping was always in the red during COMC's early days. I can't speak of it now but I can't imagine there's any profit in it - if anything, they'd be lucky to be breaking even.

As for them not refunding you for combined shipments, that's literally taking money out of your pocket. I wish I had a solution for this for you, except to make noise about it on their social medias.

Do I need to remove protective sleeves from my PSA graded submission so I don't get charged extra? I know it's a $0.50 upcharge for slabs but wasn't sure if it's advisable to remove the sleeve or not.

I just had another card uploaded to my port that is not mine.

This brings my total to 61 cards. I sent an email on the 17th, received a reply on the 20th, that "the processing team has been alerted".

The cards are still in my port, and I've now been charged $21.35 for these cards that are processed.

My friend bought 12 durant 2007 1957 topps for 27 each and I bought some notable newcomes

There was like 50+ durant rookie cards sold - not sure how COMC could load that many cards into the wrong account
