I don't need the money but $25k for a PSA 9 that I paid $700 for 2 years ago is about too good to pass up. There could be regret either way.

Personally, I don't think the stickers are worth investing in because of the nature of the card.
The sticky glue adhesive is prone to either drying up causing separation from the card back, or the sticker's front can get sort of translucent due to the sticker material seeping through the front, or the white fronts age and yellow/brown. Not all are like that, but sort of like how the 1996 Topps Chrome's have the "green" coloration issues, I feel certain cards are deteriorating with age naturally out of your control. I know with some of the "glossy" cards, the film coating used to bubble and if you put them in screw downs without a penny sleeve, they'd adhere to the plastic. Some of the chromium cards get a foggy film or sometimes oily film on the surface, easy to clean, but might cause micro-abrasions on the surface being cleaned. I've seem perfect ones after 30+ years, but at the same time have seem damaged ones that were perfect with corners and edges, well taken card of, just naturally destroyed themselves. So, for that reason only, I'd avoid the 1986-1988 Fleer Basketball Stickers as investments, unless you're buying low for a quick flip and resell over a longterm portfolio hold. |

Respectfully, I gotta disagree here. They are certainly condition sensitive—but that’s exactly what makes the high-grade copies go through the roof. ‘86 Stickers exposed to certain conditions led to some yellowing, yes, but cards would do the same in those conditions (lost the top row of an 84F baseball set in a binder this way). The stickers feature quintessential 80’s design and vivid time-period colors—they are nearly impossible to gem—but to a collector, the condition sensitivity is what makes these so appealing. Once preserved, that condition is pretty well locked in. We wouldn’t avoid the ‘93 SP Jeter because the foil is prone to chipping—we’d chase it and value high-grade examples! Which definitely lowers its ‘existing’ population significantly in comparison to the card. With it being a sticker, it almost gave you a reason to destroy it and you bet a fair amount were. Bold claim but I think the sticker will be valued at 75-80% of the card just due to scarcity. This maybe not happen in the next year or so but it will eventually. Also, who doesn’t want more Jordan rookies to collect. The whole Jordan rookie collection is under 10 cards, compare that with likes of Kobe and Lebron. It’s definitely got potential to make it all the way up Edit: I may be biased but i picked up a PSA 6 and PSA 7 sticker more than a week ago and the prices have doubled since. It’s a big one definitely room for growth. Nothing like #57 but it’s one of the few mj rc that were produced. The 86 sticker and the other star 84 cards (olympics and the other one) are great places to focus while everyone frantically tries to snag themselves #57.

Since 86 Fleers are deemed Jordan rookies, the 84-86 Star Jordans should also be in his rookie cards lineup; in fact, there are only 25 Jordan rookies even put them all together. They are so rare and limited comparing to LeBron James or Kobe.

One of my friends told me that his good friend cut the border off one of his 86 Fleer Jordan rookies so he could fit it into the picture insert in his wallet. He supposedly had multiple Jordan rookies and that was when no one cared about the set. Gotta wonder if that guy still has any of those cards.

In my opinion the 1988 Fleer stickers are simply the most difficult mint+ modern cards in existence. The quality control was absolutely hideous, the worst you've ever seen. I'm proud to say I graded the first 88 BGS 9 Jordan sticker ever back in 2006. Sure as hell wish I had it now.

Without a doubt. However...the 87 is right there with it, but only because no one seems to have any idea how they judge the centering on that card. It’s so perplexing that I think many times, whether it ends up an 8 or a 9 comes down to back centering. |

I went digging and found these... assuming not worth that much since they’re not graded?
