Default Mike Schmidt Topps base run

I just finished my Mike Schmidt Topps base run from his playing days.

Growing up in PA, I was a big fan in the late 80s.

Very nice. I’ve always been a Schmidt fan. He looked like he was 32 in his rookie year...

Very nice. It was awesome getting him to sign a baseball at the National in AC the last time it was there.

Awesome. I hope you get to upgrade that rookie someday. Growing up in PHL I had the same run, except I never got the rookie card. Schmidt's practically invisible in today's hobby, which seems weird. Although I never really collected him, so maybe it's not that weird. I collected his cards out of more a sense of obligation as a Phillies fan than a Schmidt fan.

Nice run, thanks for sharing. I recently was able to find myself the foilboard variation of his Stadium Club auto.

With the prices of cards I was thinking of doing something similar for some HOF players that have their rookies in the 60's and 70's. With the insane prices of rookie cards, this looks like a fun project!

Well done. Very cool display. Now you need to add that '75 mini.

Very Nice! I collected Schmidt (more like hoarded) as a kid and tried to collect every regular issue card. When I stopped collecting in the early 90s I had them all but a few random multi-player league leaders cards. Oddly enough, I just found my original checklist over the weekend.

No plan on upgrading, I was trying to keep this collection under 1k in total.

Nice run, I've been working on something similar for my Tony Gwynn PC, but I still have a bunch of holes.

OK, that is a brilliant idea! My wife is already mad at you for showing me that and she doesn't know it yet. I will be working on one with Gary Carter!

Wow that is sweet!

I've thought about doing some shadowbox type thing with the cards.

Admit it, you just liked to watch him wiggle his butt!

Good stuff! I don't have the RC yet as I hadn't made much headway into the 73 set, but sometime soon, maybe if the National actually happens this year...

Going to go after all his Donruss/Fleer/Score as well? At least there are just the two 89UDs to worry about!
