I know they can bump me up and charge the extra $925 if they grade it a 9 but what's my best approach here? Considering going with the $200/card 2-day option but if it spits out a PSA 8, I just pissed away $125 that I shouldn't have. Thoughts?

Can you share a pic of the card?

Why would the $75 service lock you in? They are incentivized to make it a 9 and charge you more.

That said, you'll be very lucky if you get a 9. If you think it is borderline, then it's not a 9.

I hope the Pinnacle rookie can jump on the wave that the SP is creating right now.

I think it will. 130 point shows a sale at $7500 as a best offer accepted but most have moved around $2500. Not sure if it was legit or not. I think as it corrects off what the SP is doing we will see 5k + soon for the PSA 10.

I have a psa 9 that was probably slabbed awhile ago without the small silver psa holosticker between the card and the white psa label. Is there a difference to collectors between the older slabs and the newer? And if the newer ones are more valued, are there any issues with submitting my older psa 9 for a reslab? Would they ever try to tinker with the grade or relook at it?

I think it looks like a 9. It looks noticeably better than my true 8.5 BGS (9.5 centering, 8.5 for the other 3 subs). Because I know that MY opinion doesn't really matter, I said "borderline". I feel like this card is so iconic and 9's are so scarce that even some 9-worthy cards end up with 8's. Again, these are only my thoughts. The logic you listed above (they're incentivized to make it a 9 and charge more) kind of clashes with my thoughts of PSA being keenly aware of the rarity of PSA 9+ which thus ups both the value and the PSA brand by marking some 9's as 8 and maintaining the rarity of 9's. I sent it in on a 2-day so we'll see shortly. YOLO or whatever...

I know those 93 SP foil cards have issues beyond the normal issues one would look at but there wasn't a speck of white on any corner & no noticeable surface issues that I could see. The centering was virtually identical (looked at space between shoe and bottom edge and the words/graphic on the bottom right) to the BGS 9.5 w/ 10 centering that's currently listed. No chipping or anything like that on the edges but I confess to sometimes be completely off when it comes to grading edges. Again, I know the odds of a PSA 9 are against me here but it just looked noticeably better than my BGS 8.5 and I had to take a shot.

Sounds like certainly worth taking a shot. Even if only a 5% chance... the jump it gets at PSA9 easily makes the gamble worth it.

I have a BGS9 (9.5/9.5/9/9) that I sent in for crossover (min 9). Again, even if only a 5% chance, it's worth the gamble. I sent in with a couple of other crossoverse, so even if they don't give me that one, I'm hoping at least one will cross.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

No way that sale is legit... why would someone pay $7500 when there are plenty for sale between $3000-4000?

That said... it's definitely been inching up. Sad I bought the Stadium PSA10 instead of the Pinnacle... as that has slowed recently.

Will do. And best of luck to you as well. I would think a 9.5/9.5/9/9 would be a pretty easy crossover but again, I know this is a tough card.

Would a psa 8 for $2k be a good deal? Also, do you see the psa8 increasing much compared to a psa 9?

That's pretty much average. See them going plus or minus $200 from that.

Foil PSA 8.5 just sold for $9,250 on myslabs. Inching it’s way to 10k faster than I could have ever imagined.

Do you mean 1993 pinnacle? That acutely a prospect card as is his 93 SP. 1996 is his rookie. He made is debut in 1995 for 15 games.

One of my all time favorite cards. Bought it raw in the late 90s at the Parsippany, NJ show. Was eventually a BGS 8.5 then a PSA 8. I've owned a dozen+ of these over the years, this one will always be treasured.

I’m waiting for the next PSA 10 Auction or sale to then consider moving my stuff. I am certain it will do north of 500k. Market will bounce again after that.
