Wait for it.

I might actually have that plan to retire in 4 years now.

The timing of this article is going to bring a lot of additional money into the fold.

Cool story bro. Would have been better if they interview a neutral party, not someone who has skin in the game. It’s either up up and way or the sky is falling, depending on benefits them.

So you're saying that the most sophisticated, ruthless investors on the planet are coming to buy your PSA 10 base RCs at valuations 5000% higher than they were 6 months ago.

If you guys believe this myth, I don't know what to tell you.

The only people buying at these stupid valuations are (i) social media celebrities that want attention and can monetize it or (ii) legacy hobby scum that have been accumulating hoards of PSA 9 and PSA 8 versions of these cards for years that are now positioned to profit handsomely when they create a few fake PSA 10 sales.

Stay safe out there friends.

This assessment strikes me as... unnervingly accurate.

No no no no no, it's totally the hedge funds and market makers. They were just the absolute LAST people on the planet to notice the investment potential, because they're traditionally way behind the curve on a myriad of different investment vehicles. They constantly buy things at peak pricing, and shoot them higher.

Or hedge funds choose investments that they can hedge against (go long, go short, cash the delta). Who knows???

Ok, (semi-) serious question- I work in Finance, is it time to update my CV & LinkedIn Profile to include my experience in the Sports Card market?! haha

The article was published as federal tax returns/refunds are starting to be dispersed, discussion of a new stimulus check being sent out, crypto is rising, and people who made $ from meme stocks could start looking elsewhere.

I don't see why not? It's not terrible to expand the breadth of your knowledge base and the stigma is wearing off lol.

True, I probably will- Actually just updated last month with Crypto experience (which is way longer than my wallet would reflect, ha); I mean if I got that, why not cards too?!?!
