Anyone got an update on that PWCC vault incident with that #@#@#@#@ DJ SKEET? I saw tjforce was going to reach out to his rep, but can't seem to find anything on it. Was JUST about to start using the service and send some cards there but now I am second guessing.

I mean what are they going to say? "Oops, we let someone into our secured vault to fondle cards that didn't belong to them for internet clout"?

There's lot of reasons not to submit cards with them, this is just one of them. This is coming from someone who would drop off a batch of cards with PWCC at every National, the risk/reward is not at a point I want to send them things right now. Yes, they engage in scummy behavior, but so does basically every consignment place other than Josh, so if you go the consignment route you're supporting the current system of scumbaggery that seems to plague the "hobby", but I understand why people choose to do it.

I spoke to my rep today and asked him about this. I also asked if he was okay with me sharing on overview of our convo. He was.

He said that the owner of the cards were made aware of what was going on and gave permission for this. He also mentioned that the majority of the cards shown were owned by one person. I have no way to prove this, but I have no reason to not believe him either. I've worked with him over the past few months, and the level of service I've received is A+.

I'll be headed there next week and will get a bit of a glimpse of the operation. I plan on moving a good bit of my collection to the vault, assuming everything is on the up and up, which I assume it will be.

I thought the vault was a fantastic idea (still do actually) and was talking to them about it before it was even built. Unfortunately I'm more aware of some of the different things happening in the "hobby" now than I was back then and don't think it's something I want to support right now. Imagine the FBI dropping the hammer right as you're trying to move a big card and your inventory is tied up indefinitely.

Call me naive or whatever else you want, but some of these reactions on here towards PWCC seem extremely overblown and dramatic.

Even if you didn't have any inside knowledge with regard to PWCC, you still have access to everything that been posted about them publicly whether it be here on multiple threads in the forums or The NY Times. If you review all that information and feel comfortable, so be it. I'm not judging people for dealing with fraudsters, I just wouldn't be comfortable doing so myself at this time.

I was very disappointed with the DJ Skee video. Nothing to do the handling of the cards.

Everything to do with my vision of an Oceans 11 PWCC Vault setup. The video exposed the truth. Are movies not real life?

You are naive and weren't reading everything about what they were doing in the summer of 2019 when it all blew up.

Does someone want to provide the cliffs notes? From the articles I was able to find, they auctioned off graded cards that were found to be trimmed. There was even reference in a couple articles to them refunding payments to buyers of trimmed cards. Obviously there must be way more than just this that I am unaware of?

Your are forgetting the text messages telling card owners to shill bid cards

It’s very difficult to summarize. I’d highly recommend taking a few hours and reading through some of the original threads. Hard to find on my phone but I’m sure someone could link one. I think the lebron thread was the first?

If I remember right, the major controversy was about the accusations and evidence pointing to specific individuals altering cards for a higher grade, then funneling them through PWCC. Shill bidding as well.

Both of those things happen with every consigner in the biz. The real issue seemed to be if PWCC was just turning a blind eye to this, or if they were more implicitly involved in the operations of these schemes.

There is a lot from what I read. I found out after I started using them also.
But now, I only use the vault as a staging ground to send cards to Canada. Many people will not ship to Canada, so their services are very beneficial for me, and I then have the US address. Very annoying, but at least when something rare pops up, I have a place to send it first if the seller does not ship to Canada. This often happens with football cards, as the market is not very strong here in Canada, and my options would be minimal without the Vault.

I concur. One of the better aesthetically pleasing Mahomes cards I've seen.

I did not say that I am not a fan of his new auto. I said his 2017 on-card autos (full signature) will be sought after (demand will exceed supply) because he may not be signing many cards in the future and also because his autograph has changed in 2018. I have his 2019 Flawless Emerald Patch (Lamar Hunt) Auto #2/2 which also has his loopy auto. I acquired the 2019 contenders cracked ice auto due to rarity similar to the 2019 Flawless Emerald Patch Auto. There are 25 vertical contenders cracked ice autos from 2017 and 23 from 2019. Not sure how many more contenders cracked ice on-card autos will be released in the future, so I went ahead and grabbed one

Looks like bid shielding rather than pumping.

No need to wait till the auction ends to see. Already 100% illegitimate.
