Default eBay Protocol Question

Hey guys quick question. I purchased a card on eBay. When I received the card, the seller sent the base auto instead of the parallel version, and one that was pretty scratched at that. I sent the seller a message and they said they would look for it. Several days went by with no answer so I sent a message asking for an update. The seller replied that they had it and instead of doing what I believe most honest sellers would do is offering to sell me the scratched base auto for the original price and and is asking if I want to repurchase the parallel version with a .22 cent discount.

Should I have to pay for the sellers mistake and the Lack of communication for 4 days after. Just to be clear we are talking about a card that I can purchase the base auto all day for 1.39 on COMC in mint condition and the refractor I purchased was less than 3.50.

I’m thinking of just leaving negative feedback and blocking the seller. They have several negative feedbacks left in the past month.

File a not as described case and return it those count against sellers negs do not. Blocking a seller does not do much nut keep them from buying from you. You could still buy from them and see their listings..

Not sure why you would have to pay anything more than what you agreed to pay. Most honest sellers will set things straight right away. If I was the seller, I'd just ship you the parallel for free for something that cheap. I'd just file a "not as described" claim, make him lose money on the transaction, and buy the card somewhere else. Why give him any of your money?

Oh I definitely am not. I’m not paying for a card I didn’t buy, especially when the one sent is scratched all over the face. I don’t even feel I should return the one he sent. I think the envelope and postage stamp back is worth more than the card. I’ve been very lucky in my eBay career and not had too many issues with sellers. The couple I’ve had made things right immediately.

I was just kinda taken aback by the seller that he would send me a wrong, nowhere near near mint card and then ask me to pay him more to get the exact card I should have got to begin with.
