1979 Venorlandus cards

Does anyone know any background info on these cards? Print runs, how they were distributed, name of artist who did each card, etc?

Prices on these British cigarette cards have soared in recent weeks. Full sets that were selling for $25 a couple of months ago are now going for $800+ and prices on the Ali, Pele, and Nicklaus cards in particular are exploding. Some interesting cards of race car drivers, tennis, and cricket players too.

With the popularity of Topps Project 2020 and 70, I can see how obscure vintage “art” cards like this will see continued interest and price appreciation. Any thoughts?

I've been fascinated with this set. I'm by no means an expert in this, but I was looking to get into Ali a few weeks ago. I noticed this one started to take off and I think the cards look SO cool. I caved and bought a PSA 9 for $1000. It was a gamble I was happy to take, given that the population reports are so low for this card and there can't be too many out there in good condition given the age.
