I say another month or 2. It’s been rapid expansion in a 4 week span, expansion they probably never thought was possible. Updating servers and keeping the site running smoothly when you’re hit by 100X the anticipated traffic in a short time span is extremely difficult. As it’s been said, it takes time to update hardware and servers. It can’t just be done overnight

I like it. I don't think things could last the way things were going. Getting more people involved will lead to natural growth. However, I think the print runs on these new moments are going to be crazy.

I joined Topshot a few months ago and bought about $100 worth of packs and haven't paid much attention to it, but decided to login and see if the value of any of my cards have gone up since then... and it seems like a few of mine that were worth $20 at the time are selling for $2000+ now?! Am I reading this correctly?

I could really use that kind of money at the moment, but I'm interested in hearing opinions of any of the serious Topshot collectors if you think I might regret selling right now.

My understanding of the platform's success was that scarcity was a driving factor of the interest and demand?

It's the wild west. Nobody knows what is going to happen. The supply is going to get crazy with this next release. Series one, very rare moments, and Stars like Lebron/Zion/Luka may hold value long term, but I'd say anything else is going to crash.

I mean right now the prices are crazy. I just sold a /499 Gold Metallic for $1,000 of Bazley.

It still is, those Series 1 and Series 2 LE Moments /15000 are worth their weight in gold.

It's clear with demand that they HAVE TO increase print run. This will give them the opportunity to see where they need to go with this.

Agree 100% I believe all will crash except the stars. But then again if you’re investing in bums instead of the stars you don’t know what you’re doing

This could be the Top 1% , set collectors and player/team collectors grabbing these up. You're assuming cardboard collectors are doing this. If NBA players and other deep pockets are into this, what is $1000 to us is $100 to them.

I can’t overstate how good of a thing this is for Topshot.

Yes this thing blew up seemingly overnight. If you really need the money, 100% cash out. Fact is that nobody knows what’s going to happen here. There are signs that point to this booming even more and also signs that this will crash. I believe the growth is just starting and we are still very early in the project. But I got lucky and got in early so I’m a bit biased.

I would disagree. I think ALL S1/S2 LE will hold value. Beating a dead horse here but the mint run of these is minuscule compared to what’s coming. But again, this is all contingent on overall growth.

I know they disabled new accounts before the rare pack drop due to bots but I would think they would open it up shortly. But even if you can’t yet, there is going to be plenty of packs available in the near future.

My only issue with this is how long this will take 600k packs, if you get a high number you could be waiting on the site for hours. Date night with my gf that tolerates my gif collecting and my sports cards or fight through a 600k que for a single base pack?

From what I understand there isn't going to be a waiting line for this one. Everyone can pre order it in the pre order window and then the pack will end up in your account 2 weeks from now.

One pack per account/human isn't nearly enough to quell demand. So it's a good start, but it's like the first taste from a drug dealer, IMO. Gotta set the hook.

Not that they could do much different. I don't know how many hours it takes to mint 1,000 moments. Maybe the two weeks isn't about just assigning them to the accounts, but also printing to order.
