I currently have the complete set of the 94' Mickey / Jr. auto series. But, I have an opportunity for another pair of Mantle / Jr individually signed cards from this set. Knowing how limited this print run is I'm tempted, but they're raw. So, I'd need to go through the hassle of verifying via UD which could take a bit.
Person on the other side would like my 19' TC Tatis Jr. Prizm PSA 10, these prices have been rather silly lately so it's hard for me to guage if this is fair. Last auction ended around $1,700. Would you do this trade?

The only way to figure that out is to know how long Tatis Jr. can keep the "hobby's" interest by playing superb. If he settles into a good but not great player, that is when the "hobby" will lose interest. I would hold for at least a little while.

If you're confident they're authentic and not too beat up Id take the 2 autos easy.
$1400 does seem silly to me too. TC Prism Refractor? Maybe someone with a better understanding of the Tatis graded market can chime in and remind me why Im clueless on this stuff.

I know almost nothing about that Mickey/Jr set other than having seen the Mickey/Jr Auto card a few times in person. Im easily one of the biggest Tatis fans on BO. Im taking the Griffey/Mantle cards all day and twice on Sundays. You can pickup a Tatis TC Prism 10 almost any day of the week, from now until forever.

My question would be what do you have invested into the Tatis?
When it comes to large PC items I have traded in the other persons favor if I didn't have as much invested in the card to begin with. There is a risk in holding Tatis - he breaks his ankle in spring training and now the card is worth $500. |

Just think about the likelyhood of each side winning the trade. Tatis is super exciting, but still has a ton to prove for longevity, both performance and health. I feel like Tatis prices don't have nearly enough risk consideration baked in at the moment. I'd give the Tatis side a 25% chance of winning and think that's probably being way too generous.

It sounds like you would get more joy out of the mantle/griffey. Its about 20 years until we'll know if Tatis is anywhere close to the same level.
