I'm in such an OMA trance that I need "/s" or eye rolling emojis to communicate sarcasm. OMA hasn't come out throwing uppercuts like this since his Willie Mays and Derek Jeter cards. Ichiro was good, but it was too safe compared to his Bellinger, Mays, and Jeter.

Today's Bellinger card kind of reminds me of a travel poster you would see hanging at an LAX terminal in the late 50s or early 60s.

Visit Bora Bora...or something like that

I will take the under. This card is incredible though, and I am glad people like this card, as a Pardee fan.

Im curious if the D in "CODY" is a different shade of blue for a reason. Maybe its the identical Pantone to Dodger blue and the rest of the blue used is not??

Is there significance to G E being black?

I like this SHINJOY!

I am also in a trance from the card, I will not blast the card itself [kind of, see second graph for some blasting] (also will not buy and didn't even pretend to want a Silver Frame /51), but to call it a 1958 is definitely problematic for this 'card guy.'

I would also like to take a chance to blast the photo selection for the "red" photo. Once again, (like the ichiro with blinking eyes, out of focus, overexposed one from p2020), he whiffs on image selection with the shadow over Cody's face. The image selection for the "blue" is fine, Cody admiring a home run ball, but then the tiny player in the middle is just pointless and distracting [ESPECIALLY how the shade of the square it is in is so easy to spot, I think that definitely should have blended].

I'm not mad! Just feel bad for any completionists of the "1958 Topps" cards in this set.

He should have something on his IG about the card. Not up yet?

Here's what I'm asking myself: what do I want out of a 2021 OMA card of a player who is still establishing himself? I still want him to hit nostalgia, and make the card look "vintage" in some way. He found a creative solution. Plus, it (IMO) looks good since the fonts look good and the red, white, and blue simplicity is clean.

OMA is obviously not mailing it in, or just doing some simple Photoshop thing, or doing something predictable that you've seen before. Compare this to the Willie Mays card earlier in the week. Both are going for nostalgia, but OMA is on another level.

My reaction would be different if this were, say, a Larry Doby or Frank Robinson or Duke Snider card. But, we're talking about Cody Bellinger.

This is a really exciting card #1 for his set. We're lucky to be along for the ride.

<Breathes sigh of relief, I need a glass of ice water and a big lunch now. All that pumping is exhausting>

For those into getting these graded, how will they treat the Acuna when it seems off-center by design? Or will they actually be printed centered I wonder.

Why people are grading these is beyond me. They all get shipped in a case. Its not like randomly pulling from packs.

Well done! Not buying an AP, but I will purchase a base and hope for 19 more cards that generate pages worth of discussion.

Mailday! I just heard the USPS truck arrive! Project 2020 Card #92 just arrived. $8.32 (shipping and taxes included) well spent. #122 is enroute, I spurged on it $10.80.

How will you differentiate yourself from the other 5,000 cards that look the same if you don't have it in a PSA 10 case? /sarcasmfont

Aside from some wanting them in equal sized cases, have you seen some of the sales for the PSA 10's of these?
You can basically turn a $5 card into $75-150 (as I have seen with some of these) Ermsy Trout PSA is selling for a good chunk of change above normal price. But..... I saw the same card as PSA 9 sell for under the ungraded version. weird.
