This is just getting comical at this point. I have 2 Quarterly specials that arrived 2 months earlier (arrived 7/3... entered 9/3) that just got to grading this week. I have 2 economy orders that arrived 1 month earlier (arrived 8/4... entered 9/4) that have been stuck in grading since the first week of October.

I know PSA has new graders that are only equipped to grade ultra-modern, but cmon man, pushing Ultra-Modern out 1 month ahead of Economy is just awful service.

I have a 2 card Express order that is on exactly the same schedule as yours. Was received via FedEx on 2/17. Entered today (3/9) and is currently in research.

Sloan from PSA in a podcast said this without being prompted! Copying from the PCSportscard thread

through January and February of this year, 50% of all cards submitted were valued at $50 or less. FIFTY PERCENT! And of that half of all submissions, 30% of those were valued at $25 or less. This is 100% the reason for the huge backlog.

Some of this may be due to people not filling the forms out correctly for estimated value per card. For instance, a Luis Robert RC is $150, but if you submitted 4 and didn’t adjust the value to $600, you would have an estimate per card of $37.50.

I like how they dismiss all these cards but after they grade them a 10 they wanna up charge you based on the new value.

100% this. Personally, I fill out the form and put values of the cards in their raw state. If a card is $20, but a PSA 10 is $100, I value it at $20. I've always done it this way. Probably not right, but it's what I do.

Definitely not right lol, but hey if you don't get upcharged more power to you.

I've heard this can bite you in the ass if they damage your card though as they give you what you declared the value to be as compensation.

Never been upcharged. Graded probably 5K cards.

They've damaged one of my cards before. They paid me what I listed the value as. Which was the raw value. Which was what I paid. Do you really think they are going to say, "Oops, we trashed your card and it was going to be a PSA 10. Let us pay you the market value for a PSA 10." ... Not going to happen.

I think you’re probably right doing it this way - you just might not get that upcharge card back as quickly as you wanted to and potentially avoid paying unnecessary higher grading fees / insurance. That said, if you need to flip or miss an opportunity to sell when the market is hot, it could be costly.

My thoughts exactly. My Economy/Voucher order was entered 9/23 and has been stuck in grading since October. Ridiculous

Nevermind. I thought it was "entered" on 9/30 but that's when it was "received." It wasn't entered until November

I feel your pain.

Every Economy order prior to that did approximately 3 months door to door. One entered as late as 9/1/20.

Put it at $200, they’re gonna screw you on the rare chance your card gets damaged or lost, and it protects against a price increase while they have it in hand. There’s no risk/cost to you as long as your total order doesn’t move up a level on return insurance.
