Exactly why I want to withdraw most of my gains.

I know it's in beta mode but there's so many issues (and restrictions) these days. I can already envision it being down for a few days before a challenge expires and users being unable to complete it and/or move Moments associated with a challenge at "peak" value. I'm sure TS would probably just extend the challenge deadline but that could also result in backlash from those who started early on them as it could potentially increase a reward Moment's print-run (e.g., giving people more time to accrue funds outside of TS to deposit into TS for the key Moments, etc).

Anyway, I'm probably too negative on a platform that seems to be the gift that keeps giving.

NFT's will play a role in the future and many will hold immense value but i dont believe top shot will. The type of nfts that will hold value are those with one of one content. When you own a topshot clip you really dont own the clip you own it along with the other people that have bought it on topshot because topshot has serial numbered these to more than 1. They type of NFT's that will hold value are things that will either entitle you to tangible items (a nft that you show for a discount on your food at a restraunt) or things that although could be readily available like topshot clips are only owned by that one person or that one person as well as the original creator (see the rick and morty clip that was sold for millions as an example). Topshot clips are fundementally diffrent from the types of nft's that will hold major value. Im not saying topshot isnt here to stay cause it is a cool idea and will have a following but to expect clips to hold a 100k plus value like some are right now is crazy.

I only jest. I’ve seen every possible shutdown this site could throw out. I’ll bitch about it when it’s down and has problems and then I’ll go back to business as usual when all systems go. Kinda my routine.

I understand this take and I know you are going to hate this answer but here it goes....they are in beta (take a shot everyone).

They have tons of plans to get more utility out of these moments and make them more than just a highlight.

1. They are going to be releasing a mobile game down the line that uses the moments (we have seen how valuable digital gaming assets can be).

2. The relationship with the NBA is surely going to come even more into play. Picture a message from the player attached to some of the high value moments. Or stadiums having special seating for the top 1% holders for their team.

3. Plenty of things we can't even think of right now. This team was one of the forefronts for NFT's. They have been doing them for years. They know the importance of incorporating value into the asset and they are nowhere close to finished with their innovations.

My counter to this thought is that Top Shots doesn't necessarily have to be the best NFT, just better than the alternative, which is physical cards.

Right now, the average buyer of wax spends like $400 for a box to get on average, what, $50? Then they have to list them on eBay, give up 15%, etc etc.

Point being, there is definitely a market for paying $14 to get a few unique Moments. Even if the market corrects and those Moments become only worth, on average, $10 in total, it will still make for a lot of happy collectors.

Attach season tickets to the TS gifs and boom, utility.

There’s a ton of ways TS NFTs can be utilized through the NBA space. Imagine an NFT that gave you two courtside tickets to any NBA arena, whenever you wanted.
