2007 A&G Topps Dick Perez Comments on HUGE SCREWUP

here we go again...im sure like everyone knows on here about the HUGE screwup Topps made by marking there 2007 Allen & Ginter Baseball Dick Perez Inserts 1/1 on every card....I was caught it on the spoof...when ginter first hit the shelves my local card shop had only packs left and so I splurged and got 20...I noticed the Dick Perez cards in every pack and saying that it was my first time buying the product, I had no clue that they werent true 1/1's....so like i have seen now the past week, I put them on ebay when I got home on August 3rd or around there....I sold them immediately...then noticed wow how could these sell so fast...so I looked on the BAY and noticed EVERYONE was listing them 1/1....I was shocked and had a bad feeling in my stomach...so I notified everyone that purchased them off me and told them about TOPPS HUGE SPOOF...I gladly refunded EVERY ebayer like a honest ebayer with integrity....Who thinks Topps is going to get chewed up for doing this...imagine your son going to the card shop and getting a pack with one of these in there then getting his heart broke when his dad tells him about Topps mishap.....I would love to hear your responses with Topps SCREWUP....Everyone have a nice day

A pat on the back for setting things straight with the customers. Unfortunately not everyone on ebay has a conscience and there will be a lot of sorry buyers.

ya no doubt...Im not going to sit back and just screw people on huge money...now there are alot of people on there now that are doing so....Ive been messaged about 4 times since I brought the items down about how Im a scammer and stuff....yet I have refunded everyone like I said....There are SOOO many up there right now...have a great day

Good for you on doing the right thing and being honest. My fiance' had a similar reaction when she saw the first one out of a pack, and I had to look closely and tell her without a sticker on the back that it was not a true 1/1. She is not even a card collector and you should have seen her face. Sad. Good job Topps.

You get the idea. Look at how drastically the prices fall from one day to the next on Ebay. I typed in Dick Perez sketches under advanced searches, completed auctions. Wonder how Topps is going to spin this PR nightmare?

holy crap, the buyers will soon find out there is a ton on ebay or that it is not really a 1/1...then the question will be asked, will they get there refund?

Buying, selling, prospecting, gambling, etc., are parts of the fun. I will say that being older than many here I just can’t justify sticker autos. Give me a nice on-card auto and I feel that little connection to the signer.
