- will likely climb fantasy leader boards as a potential .300 avg/.375 obp/.500 slugging/20 hr/20 steal player

- the team has 6 prospects on top 100 prospect list and also the first pick (likely rocker) this draft and if they stink this bad they may have 1st overall after this season and maybe the one after.

So I still think there is lots of value at today’s prices. But I am also biased as I do own his BCA super auto.

Just my two cents. And all of that doesn’t consider if he is moved to a contender.

Don't be ashamed to be a season ticket holder. This is my first year as one(partial season plan) and I'm very excited by it. Now if we can just safely go to games.

Haha, thank you! Yes, just can’t stay away- PNC park is a beautiful park and at least we can watch Hayes and the other young talent over the next several years.

While you all are digging through those 2015 boxes looking for Hayes I'm still looking for the the Paper Red, Chrome Red Refractor, and Chrome Black Wave Asia Refractor for Ryan Helsley.

Big news as I figured Hayes would be held back for service time, Shelton said Hayes is his opening day 3B. Great for an NL ROY run!

He'd have to go 0 for spring with 20 errors for him to not have been the starting 3B.

Not true at all. They could have kept him down similar to Kris Bryant until end of April and got another year of control. They will finish dead last in MLB, so I’m shocked they aren’t doing that. And they just signed Todd Frazier as a 1b/3B. I thought there was a 75% chance they started Frazier until end of April citing some nonsense.

Maybe they don't care about service time cause they figure they'll trade him before he even gets to free agency.

I get all that. But I don't think Bryant had actually been up with Cubs when that happened. I think them bringing up Hayes last year in a useless season was pretty much a sign that if he played well, he was staying.

Didn’t all the players get prorated playing time last year? So if you’re active for 60 games you got 1 year of service time, 30 games 1/2 year of service time. So the fact he played 24 games he should have gotten 40% of a years service time. They’d have to keep Hayes down longer than just May 1st to gain another year of service time, might as well have him opening day.

Been buying his autos since he was drafted.

Focused on inception primarily. When I bought them I was paying $3-5 for anything Base through /99, spent $50 on the true 1/1

We collect him because we're huge pirates fans, but on top of that our names are Keegan and Bryan Huey. Ke'Bryan Hayes is damn close to the two combined haha.

Getting hard to keep them seeing them go up the way they have. Up to 120 autos, full inception rainbow, First bowman ref auto 9.5, Raw purple BC auto, First bowman 1/1 black Printing plate auto and a bunch of other random ones.

He's so much fun to watch.

Interesting to see the projections for Hayes are nearly identical to Brendan Rodgers. Especially considering that the two of them have performed in completely opposite fashion in their respective limited experience. Hayes gets the nod for defense tho

Very interesting, that would make sense. That almost has to be what it is or else I don’t see the pirates starting him with the squad. Regardless as to why, I’m super pumped because we get to watch him all year then! Thanks for sharing this!

I was going to say the same thing.. that ballpark looks beautiful, so being a ticket holder isn't such a bad thing.

Yep, but be careful. There is a huge premium right now on it. He is going to have to kill it this year for prices to go much higher.

I am biased of course, but I don’t agree.

1. He is the odds on favorite for NL ROY
2. Should lead NL rookies in WAR cuz of his offense, defense, and speed
3. Will likely be an All star
4. Has good baseball blood lines, defense and speed don’t go into slumps like a power hitter alone
5. Is literally the only thing our Pirates can market on the field wise
6 Will likely slash at least something like:

.290/.370/.530 with 20-25 hrs, 10-15 steals and gold glove caliber defense. Just turned 24, so not acuna, tatis, soto young but still young seeing as how he already got a great head start last year.

I personally wouldn’t be surprised at PSA 10 base auto’s pushing 1k with an even decent start to the season given today’s market.

Would be curious as to how the NL ROY favorite (source draftkings) at $230 for a raw base auto “has a huge premium on it right now”. I mean he has already shown something at major league level.

I think Hayes is great and has tons of potential, I'm not arguing that he isn't going to be a great player.

But $230 is not cheap for a base chrome autograph...especially a Pirates player. In fact it is the most expensive chrome autograph from 2015 draft. Unless he becomes Acuna, Soto, Tatis good, I'd argue prices are going to fall.

Right now his prices are carrying a premium is for two reasons

1. Demand >>>> Supply
2. He hit .368 last year and is hitting .417 right now. The hype machine is in full effect. 97.5 times out of 100, the player does not live up to hype

Hayes will also have a ton of autographs in 2021 Topps sets. Right now his autographs selection is sparse.

I'm not sure what Andrew Mccutchen 2004 chromes sold for back in the day, but the refractor /125 9.5 10 just got $325. And that is his only 2004 autograph chrome card.

325 then is like 3250 nowadays in this market

Can't wait for these bad boys to come back from grading. Bought all of them in the offseason before prices started to climb! At this rate if only a few gem I'll still be in the green!! Can't wait to watch him play too!
