The Royals aren’t winning anything this year. No rush to bring him up. Maybe he gets a cup of coffee if he tears the minors a new hole.

He was an off-season target of mine, but I only came away with two cards of his. Wish I would have believed a little more. (Which I guess Is how we always feel when prospects do good.)

Well could be in my favor if he does make it to AA with the affiliate being a short drive.

It's a great looking card! I don't know enough about baseball card markets to guess at how the first year of Bowman 1st Edition will do long term, but the blue foil does look great.

I like witt as he looks like he has the physical tools and like many have mentioned the baseball IQ is hard to miss but every time i get reasy to pull the trigger on a nice witt card my mind goes to bubba starling and every other royals prospect their farm system and coaches have failed with. I think a lot of people are in the same boat. I mean if this guy played for a big market team his sales would be even higher. Witt definitely has a lot more going on than many other past royals prosects that didnt pan out but its hard to ingore how many guys were supposed to be solid players that just didnt pan out.

Indians went 20 straight years with a 1st round bust. The drafted Lindor and the fanbase felt the same about him. He turned out pretty pretty good.

I would look at Witt's potential independently of past Royals bust. Especially Bubba. Bubba had a high bust potential and showed nothing during his minor league career.

Witt has already shown tremendous upside. If you are on the fence - maybe wait a couple months and see how he fairs against minor league pitchers.

You people just do not get it. There is quite a chance that the Royals do win something this year. Dayton has not worried about service time in the past, see Brady Singer. They made moves and it will be interesting to see what they do with him, but your post is wrong.

Hosmer and Moustakas were terrible too. Always guys who cannot spell that have the loudest voice.

Calm down. You’re talking to a Marlins fan. I’m aware that that teams who have no chance of winning will bring up prospects anyways, it’s just a matter of franchise philosophy. The reason why I think the Royals will wait until 2022 is that they do see themselves winning in the near future, and would want that extra year of service time from Witt. Either way, I would love for Witt to be called up this year. It would be good for the Royals, good for baseball, and good for my collection. Everyone wins.

Umm... past Royals prospects that didn't pan out? You mean besides Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Salvador Perez, Yordano Ventura, Danny Duffy, Greg Holland, Kelvin Herrara, Zack Greinke, Wil Myers, etc. I mean all we did was go to back to back World Series and field a team that at one point had 5 of our first round draft picks on the field simultaneously.

I think the difference is the assumption that Moore doesn't plan to compete in the "near future". His plan after losing our core guys from our most recent run was to rebuild swiftly. I think he fully plans to contend as soon as possible...if not 2021, then 2022. Fingers crossed.

My point is just that you are wrong, the team sees themselves as competing. I am not saying that they should call him up or not, but I do think he will get a call at some point. Whether it is Day 1 or Day 15 or September, I do not know, but you're percentage is as wrong as it can be.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

(Also, you used “you’re” when you should have used “your”. Not that I care at all, but you might want to check your grammar better if you want to call out other people for spelling typos in their posts.)

Funny, I give it 100% he gets called up this year. I think a long term deal is in play as we speak. Think about this from Dad's prospective. I would think, not sure but think, they have enough money for a good life. He wants his son to be a Hall-of-Famer. Immortalized in Cooperstown. How do you move that forward, get to the MLB as fast as possible. How do you do that, sign a long team deal that's team friendly. If he's that great, he can sign a mega deal at 27 and really never worry about money.

What is the pos’ eBay ID? That’s someone I’d rather not deal with, ever.
