So how do you do a 12-card 1956 Topps set and NOT include a Stan Musial card, the greatest player without a card in the original 1956 Topps set?

Got my first TT package in for my sub yesterday--landed an Adell photo variation, so that was a nice surprise

Very disappointing set choice. We just saw this design in Bowman Heritage.

I realize they're selling more units under this new format, but my interest is dwindling (and I own probably 80% of all of the prior TBT sets from 2016 onward).

I own 100% of all TBT (including the new SP cards) and I agree with you. I often question if I should quit TBT in 2021.

New Throwback Thursday set is up.

You can now imagine what baseball cards would look like in the style of...

(checks notebook)

...1980 Topps baseball.

Sigh.

Sigh.
And to make it worse, one of the first three cards is Rickey Henderson, who ALREADY HAS A CARD IN THE ORIGINAL 1980 SET!

Out of all the retired players to choose from, they couldn't find someone who doesn't already have a card in the 1980 design??????

I'll also add that I'm pretty disappointed overall with the design choices this year.

Only two of the five have been interesting, the 1961 Bazooka and 1972 Football "In Action" designs.

The other three have been standard Topps product designs, i.e. 1956 Topps, 1980 Topps, and 1992 Bowman.

Would love to see more old football/basketball/hockey/non-sports designs used for this product line....

Agree 1000000%!!! That's why I hate this new format... we just aren't going to get the variety because they only do 12 designs per year.

Just because, here is a list of the baseball base designs Topps has yet to use for TBT. So be prepared for more generic throwback cards:

51
53
55
62
67
69
70
73
75
78
79
81
82
83
85
87 (previous 87 was Future Stars design; doesn't count as base)
89-94 (previous 89 was #1 draft pick; doesn't count as base)
96
98
2000-04
06
08 and greater

And the years that Topps has repeated:

54 (back to back sets)
56 (different TBT years)

Last week's TBT set (1980 Topps with Jazz Chisholm, Kaline, and Bellinger) is the new low print run for the new format: 1049.

Doing dual-player cards this time around, which is cool.

But why choose the 1968 design? There are several other dual-player designs which have a lot more visual appeal.

Meaning only 52 Bellinger short prints, correct?

Nobody cares about this set anymore huh.
I basically don't care as well, but this week's release look pretty neat.

I love the Tom Seaver / Nolan Ryan image, and there is also Trout / Ohtani in the checklist, though they somehow do not have that Trout/Ohtani image posted.

Will be buying several sets this week.

I honestly forget to scroll that far down the page. I usually stop and click on the New Releases. Seems it would be better for Topps to put these on that page too since technically it is a new release.

Man, it has been a while since I bought a TTT set. The lineup for this week is nice with Seaver/Ryan and Trout/Ohtani. The Trout/Ohtani variation is the card to get.
