If Baddo makes the Tigers opening day roster will he automatically have a rc in series 2? Update? Or topps decides?

I would hope and assume if he makes the opening day roster and played some games he would have a series 2 rookie or at least an update rookie. But the final call does come down to topps so you cant know for sure. They have made weird decision with rookie cards before so you never know.

If he makes the OD roster he will 90% be in at least Update. 45% chance of S2. Fot a specific precedent of NOT being in S2 & on OD roster, how about another Rule V guy, Elvis Luciano.

However, that's based on 2019 & previous history, and the collecting world is different now. History may just not matter anymore.
