With his 2016 TC and TC Refractor RCs really spiking lately, am I way off base to think there's great value in his TC Update #HMT41 REF/250? With Rookie Debuts slowly coming into hobby acceptance, + low#, not to mention the sweet head first slide photo, I think it's a great buy at $40-50 range

With Topps Chrome taking off, where does this put his Sapphire rookie at?

First year of release (2016)
Lowest print run (250)

I haven’t seen anything sell since 17 Jan and that was a BIN sale. Prices have over doubled since then. I don’t see one listed for under $2K.

No question he is on fire right now and has been since the start of last season. I really believe he will be in the conversation for MVP this year. I think the only thing that could really slow down his cards at this point is if he isn’t playing.

As far as sapphire goes, I have been a huge believer in the set since begging of last year. Slowly been accumulating key rookies and superstars. I don’t think people fully appreciate the rarity of the set bc they see listings on feebay. If you want to appreciate how rare these cards truly are, I challenge you to go to a card show and see how much is put out. I know the last show I went to, about a month or two ago, 100 tables, I saw only one sapphire card (trout) at the entire show that wasn’t at my table. I’m in no hurry to sell ANY of my sapphire cards. But hey, that’s just me...

speaking of sapphires, i have a chance to pick up a raw for around $1k... looking at comps of other players in '16 (trea) seems pretty high still but very tempting since the design + color make it a very nice looking card and being a dodger fan i feel like this might end up as THE card for seager

I do think $1,000 is a bit high for raw...however, the quality control on 16 an 17 particularly, is by and large, very good. If you look at the pop reports for those sets you will see the gem rate is very high ~80+% (if not higher).

I agree, $1k is good if it’s clean. I just saw a PSA 9 sold on MySlabs for $1k

thanks, ended up pulling the trigger because ultimately think these '16 sapphires will be harder to come by and with it being dodger blue i guess i wont mind overpaying by a $1-200 bucks..

Nothing wrong with that at all! I tell people all the time, if you want a 16/17 sapphire, being that there were a hard 250 of each set, you have to have someone (out of 250) willing to break a set and THEN be willing to sell that card. As people begin to buy and just put away, I’ve begun to see all sapphires dry up substantially over the past year. A year ago I could literally buy (at a price) whatever I wanted. Now, some cards I put off, I won’t see listed for months at a time on eBay. So long answer, I think you did fine!

That price wouldn’t shock me though. BGS 10 at 1.5x psa 10 puts psa 10 @$1,300. Doesn’t seem to far fetched to me...

A PSA 9 just sold for $1,025 on mylabs. $2K for a BGS 10 is very reasonable. I could see PSA 10s at $2K and BGS 10s north of that.

Same here, since I took $2500 for my orange dime and that was #/25. If he hits some long balls in Oakland, these can go crazy across the board. Already saw Bowman Chrome Auto refractor gems sold for $1800 and $2200- those were half that last week!

Agreed. I just picked up a 2017 Seager Sapphire Rookie Cup for $45. Very happy to add that to the pc.
