Urquidy is a nice piece that always finishes top 40 SP so he will provide a great value at only 25 years old. Waters has a lot of potential too as a top 30 prospect, but have a lot of depth at OF and could afford to spare him

I personally wouldn’t have made the trade no matter which side I was on lol- either way but that’s just because neither really fits my team needs to warrant a trade. The best thing about fantasy baseball is that it worked perfectly for your guys rosters. Love it.

I just have to casually say I took Nelson Cruz as a kick-in in a trade thinking i’d get a decent end of the season that year from him. 2-3 years later the dude is just a monster in points leagues.

In a startup dynasty draft I did this past year I got him in like the 25th-30th round. Guy can still hit.

It’s crazy with the MLB trending towards younger players how overlooked the guys is. I get position eligibility and the fact he will sit every NL crossover game but ... way undervalued.

I remember being absolutely over the moon when I got Musgrove in a trade with Woody last season. Knew he had this kind of stuff. Just a matter of maturing as a starter, keeping the ball in the park, and letting it rip. He's a stud.

Valid point. LOL

He got me 70 points tonight. And I'm still getting crushed. But that's ok. My dynasty building is still a work in progress. I'll donate for a couple of years but eventually I'm coming to collect.

After my horrific start where my starting pitching combined for like -70 points last week it’s been my only goal just not to finish in last. I slowly moved into second to last, and then I was at one point thrilled to see that I might even finish third to last ahead of you. Then I checked the scores yesterday, saw yours, and was like wtf?!? What happened?

70 points. Crazy!

Bshea and I have been locked in a tight one for a few days now, and it's all knotted up at 413-all. Will be a tough loss for whoever comes up short, we're tied for 2nd most points in the league this matchup

But this is the scoring right?

“ Scoring format- Head to head but roto style. Everyone is matched up against everyone for the week-long matchup, you get a win for all team you finish with more points than, and a loss for everyone you finish with less points than. Standard rules for SP limits still apply. I will keep track of results in our draft spreadsheet as I don't believe ESPN can handle it outright”

So even though one of you loses to the other, you still get a win above everyone else right? Still gonna be a good week.

No, sorry, that was just for last year's format given all the covid restrictions. We wouldn't have had time to do long enough of a true head to head schedule with playoffs so we decided to do the W/L format you quoted below. But we're back to a normal head to head schedule now that we have a normal season again

Well I gotta say that is a little disappointing. All of the decisions I’ve made up to this point, including joining the league in the first place, were based on a different scoring format. All I could go on was based on the stated rules. I guess since my week was so poor I should be happy, but this just totally changes my mindset moving forward a bit. Makes me question my earlier trade as well. (But not wanting a redo, it is what it is).

I’m not going to make a bigger fuss of it but can you please update the front page with the correct rules so I know what game I’m playing lol?

I could be 100% wrong because I wasn't active last year after my team had 10 players on the COVID list by week 2 but I don't think the 'scoring' was different. Just the format. It was essentially a Roto points league. However now its back to head to head which it was. Since its not a 'categories' league.....you are still drafting and trading with the mindset of net points.

Also...can we get team names up somewhere and BO ID's. I always have crazy tough battles with Rhode Island....and have no clue who it is. Whomever out of the two of us loses will be a hard luck loser as well.

Yes but I was under the impression I was in a league where I was playing everyone else the same week. That's a much different scenario than single game head to head.

When you play everyone every week, the good teams separate quickly. If you want to hang, you got to be one of the better teams. In a head to head league, that's not always the case. Luck plays a much bigger role. The matchup that hollywood referenced is a prime example. The loser of that game will start 0-1, the same as the lowest scoring team in the league. It's a big blow. Luck played a huge role. In the scenario where that team plays everyone else, well instead of being 0-1, that team is actually like 9-2. So again, the good teams are handsomely rewarded and quickly separate.

Now I have identified myself as not having a great team. Figured this wasn't going to be my year in that setup. Ok so no worries, I can call up a guy like Houck and trade away a guy like Castillo because sure, let's try to be competitive, but really my eye is on the future. But in a single game head to head league, well strategy and luck play a huge role. If I play more two game starters, hope to catch a guy on a bad week, just shoot for middle of the pack/playoffs and then hope to go on a roll in the playoffs, well then that can work.

So that's the difference.

Anyway, I'm not going to harp on it longer, but this is why I was disappointed to see that the posted rules were not actually the correct rules. It's ok, I'll adjust and adapt and do my best. But for us new guys, we really need an accurate rule sheet we can reference repeatedly.

Sorry about that. In my defense, while it is in the OP, those bullets are labeled as 2020 season only. But I can see how it would be ambiguous, particularly for a new owner. On me for not editing the OP again sooner, wanted to leave it in there was a reminder to myself what exactly we did last year

The team name abbreviations should be set to a shortened version of each person's BO username to solve that exact issue. I see a few are not though, will get that updated
