Agreed. But who actually has standing to complain? I would think it is Panini. And Panini seems complicit insofar as Panini is not taking action to prevent it but rather dramatically raising the prices of their direct offerings from their website.

You get way too emotional about this. It is a hobby.

I hate the fact that bots get all of the product but how is it stealing?

I am sure it wouldn't be stealing and you would be okay with it if the next drop there was a glitch in Target's system and only you were able to get through and you bought 10,000 blasters that you were just going to resell.

I wouldn’t be against making it illegal and think that would be the most direct way to stop it, with legislative precedent already.

However I can understand how you are calling it theft when they are literally paying full price for it. To me it’s an issue of ethics and/or morals.

You could easily envision a scenario where Target went live with stock to see if they could still catch the bots as a test.

What I don’t know is how long the product was available and who actually got an order through that wasn’t cancelled. Like I said the chatter online is that all KSR orders got canned.

I do think it is remotely possible (though unlikely) they baited the bots to fish them out.

Come on moss man. It is a technological advantage play only. Nothing illegal, immoral, or ethical. Just using the tools at hand smartly.

It is the retailers job to stop it if they choose to.

I don’t buy secondary market blasters. I don’t buy from hobby shops that sell secondary market retail.

I buy what I like and don’t buy what I don’t. This whole bot/target camp-out/retail flipper stuff has certainly made my experience in the hobby more niche. These things come in phases. At some point it’ll be something else.

I sort of just think of pack opening as not part of my hobby experience anymore. It’s a bummer, but it’ll come back some day.

They say the simplest explanation is most often the right one. In this case the simplest explanation is that they went live and sold the product.

That said it was 3 hours ago now and we still don’t have anyone saying they got an order through, at least in this thread.

As far as I can tell they were in stock from 11:34 - 11:36am CT.

Got my alert at 11:34am. After having to confirm my card info, I managed to get my order of 3 in at 11:36am. Logged into the wife's account within 30 seconds after that and they were OOS.

My order looks like it's going to ship. As mentioned a few posts earlier, I'm also hearing that anybody who bought with a bot got theirs canned.

There it is.

bots were clipped, but with random drops anyone not using some kind of software is SOL. For people trying to manually cart the only hope is a known time with them fighting bots.

Wasn’t this the first drop? And if so, how did you get alert? Is there a feature to get an alert whenever new sports cards are listed? I know the “notify me when back in stock option,” but I thought this was a new drop.

Has to be some type of monitoring software because new products don’t alert you when put on the page.

Didn’t say the alert came from target. Came from a discord group monitor. I was sick of getting the Target alerts so late so I finally gave in and joined a discord. I’d say on average the alerts from the Target app come anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes later than the monitor pings.

Exactly. If it's paid for and delivered, that's how the old ball bounces. It's quite unethical, but it's not stealing.

I agree with this but although I do find some S1 and Heritage at Target and Walmart every once in a while.

Those are available because fortunately the flippers know there isn’t a short term flip on those. Flippers are not interested in long term holds like we are.

Same. If you just want low end retail baseball to rip it is possible at MSRP. You just can’t puck it up 24/7 whenever you feel like it, more like a 6-48 hour window each week. The lines and the bots are more for NBA, NFL, & Pokemon, it feels like.

I would like to buy 1-2 more Heritage Megas but that feels unlikely to happen and I won’t feed the flipping beast by doing it that way. I expect several weeks of basic Heritage availability in other packages.

I stopped by the on Target that still does random stocks. They had S1 blasters, Opening Day blasters, Heritage fat packs and a couple heritage blasters - all still left from the stock last Wednesday.
