I was expecting 20-25% Gems in that order. Many cards were purchased raw from Ebay, including large quantities of the 1990 Score Bo Jackson 697 B&W card and 1991 UD Michael Jordan SP1. However, another chunk was pack pulled from clean 1989 Hoops boxes. Over 25 Jordan & David Robinsons subbed, all 9’s. The only 10 from that lot was a Charles Barkley that I assumed would be an easy 10.


As I watched Trading Cards & More’s YT video, I felt his frustration. My sub was graded very closely to his and the percentage of 9’s and 8’s were deflating.

My next Value Modern order is 222 cards that may come back within 45-60 days. We’ll see if the trend continues.

status: research, grading as of 10/25/20, assembly 4/16/21, QA1 4/23/21, QA2 4/23/21, list still showing, list disappeared on 4/27/21, got an upcharge email and grades on 4/28/21 at 9:30 PM PST, didn't get charged until 5/3/21, and my order still hasn't shipped.

Has anyone seen a delay from when grades popped to ship?

Does anyone know how they are handling up-charges for cards graded/valued higher than submitted? It's going to be pretty frustrating if people have values/economies that took a year to get graded but then they still have to pay the regular fees without receiving that level of service.

A guy on the PSA boards says 'his sources' (so that that for what it's worth) have told him the backlog stands at about 13m cards.

If you're one of the guys who submitted a raft of 2nd and 3rd tier ultra modern RCs in late Feb to 'beat the price increase', I, ah, wish you all the best with that.

They are still doing it. I got upcharged for my economy order.

Upcharges are random (like an IRS audit). If you get upcharged, they will honor the rate at the time of submitting the cards. So if you submitted at Value for $12/ card and the card should have been submitted at Express you will pay $75 as an example. You are sort of stuck because they won't slab the card if you don't agree to the higher rate. Agree its sort of bogus given you clearly didn't receive the Express service in this example but the alternative is not to get your card back with the grade so they sort of have you.

Yeah - for my economy orders it’s been close to a week. So you should hopefully ship out really soon

I hope this isn't them telegraphing that the influx of resources are going to be solely dedicated to getting orders logged into the system. Something tells me order entry wasn't the bottleneck to led to the backlog.
