It doesn’t have a rc logo.. it’s not his rc nor should it be considered that.

You can make the argument with sapphire update chrome that Griffey trout etc... would be rookies, by that logic.

Save some of these Lewis Hamilton parallels for the rest of us! Great pulls.

Won't argue with you because, truthfully, I don't really care lol.

But I will say that not all rookie cards have a RC logo, sometimes manufacturers forget to include it.

So there’s going to be parallels of these cards that just say the racing team name?

Forgetting to include it is more an error or a mistake.

They just need to put 1st Topps Sapphire on any of the vets. RC on the actual RC's.

Yes. They look almost like Pokémon cards with just the logo on the middle

Sorry if it comes across as arguing with you I’m not lol. I was just looking at it that way, it shouldn’t be a rc.

The Chrome or Sapphire Variation will probably not be considered his RC. Just a really damn nice SSP variation of one of his first major licensed cards.

Pricing so far would lead me to believe that Topps Now will continue to be recognized as his RC (PSA 10's going for $4-5K with lots of room to run given the low print run). I think the Chrome #1 has lots of potential but there is a lot of them out there and until F1 becomes more mainstream in North America it has a bit of a ceiling for at least the next while. This Sapphire product will definitely help bring in more attention.

I could be wrong as the LeBron Topps Chrome only started to take off a few years ago and he was into Year 10+ of his career.

I'm more curious to see how the Hamilton Chrome #1 refractor fares against the Sapphire Chrome #1 which is also refractor like but probably has a PR several times the base TC refractor.

Griffey and the other vets in sapphire update all have had chrome cards in previous years. 2020 is the inaugural year for formula 1 cards hence why these are so valued. Rc or not it’s going to be considered way more valued then his pro2.0 or whatever card that is.

Speaking of Chrome Update Sapphire, sealed boxes are still holding steady at $225.

The rookie card stamps in F1 2020, its inaugural year, are for the drivers who were new in 2020. No other drivers have them, because they weren't new drivers in 2020. However, since F1's inaugural season with active sports cards sets is 2020, people are recognizing it as the best card to own.

Its not argumentative, but if all the people are rushing to buy that card or variation.....its not going to matter what you think.

Do I really need to remind people every release that you can't buy or sell wax on the forum?!?!?

I know but there's a lot of forum lurkers that are new to the hobby so I took the opportunity to clarify it.

Haha, no worries at all.

Just sharing that some people do. For what it's worth, I voted for the 2020 Topps Chrome too.

A lot of hobbyists prefer the Topps Chrome card (possibly now, the Sapphire parallel), at least based on those who voted in that one poll.

Personally, I don't care because I don't own a single Hamilton card. With that said, I'd definitely prefer to own a pack-pulled one versus a Topps Now one (but that's me and I don't make up the market).

Not RC but maybe "1st Topps" but wouldn't the Chrome be the 1st Topps

Uefa sapphire broke Topps! Lol. No ground floor to get in on for these still sealed, unless you consider $700 and climbing to be ground floor still. I don’t think we’re going to like the new price of Topps wax after they go public and have to start answering to investors

Topps would literally have to put "1st Topps" on every card in the set, which is especially ridiculous as Lewis Hamilton's first season in F1 was 2007...

The way the RC logo is used is already really dumb. 2019 rookies get the RC logo while the only actual 2020 rookie doesn't have it (Latifi).

I can see these hitting 1k, but not 2k like UEFA Sapphire.

Call me crazy but I think these sealed box will hit 2K sooner compared to UEFA Sapphire.
