FS: late 1990s NBA ungraded, my childhood collection (critique my listings)

I'm selling off most of my collection from my childhood from the 1990s; they don't hold much nostalgia for me anymore and if this market is still 'hot', I wouldn't mind cashing in. They've mostly been sitting in boxes for the past 20 years. Some of them may just go in the recycling bin because they're not mint.

I've just started selling on ebay and would appreciate any tips/critiques about my listings:

Should I go with Buy it now or auction? Do I need better (or more?) pictures? Should I place them in penny sleeves for my photos or use 'raw' photos?

Nearly all of the items currently listed (and will be) are:
late 1990s
non-autos
ungraded

I've noticed that the same item in the same condition can sell for wildly different values - 2 to 3x what one that appears to be in the same condition, within weeks of each other. Is that expected? Is it sort of luck? Is the market that volatile?

I also have a couple dozen baseball and football RCs and inserts, but they all seem to be selling for quite low (recent comps are under $5/each)
