After seeing some breaks and prices, these will be 2k in a couple months. People know that
If people knew that, these wouldn't be selling for $750. Hope you're right, though.

Got my box today, pulled a teal variation Verstappen but it has the same back top edge issue as regular chrome. Sapphire is also made in Italy which makes sense as the damage matches regular chrome which was printed there too. It does look like Topps is shifting more production there, especially for the more European-centric sports, I think it's likely UCL chrome and Sapphire will also be printed there (UCL Match Attax Chrome already has is).

Sapphire! Cards look awesome 😎 !
Will be interesting to see in a few weeks how the market is doing with sapphire compared to hobby prices.

Youre assuming people dont need the money right away. Some flippers will take any profit and not hold. If certain people used a credit card (dont matter if its a small amount) then they might want to sell sooner rather than later.

What you consider small profit, the next person can consider it huge profit.

Yeah, but if that's true, then wouldn't we see undercutters come in and drive the price down? I'm not trying to be argumentative. I have 2 boxes and want them to go as high as possible. I'm just trying to sort through the pump.

I just look at the Sapphire UEFA. I mean I know its not the exact same product, but its the best comparison we have at the moment.

Same trend, boxes started around $500 right after release and some people sold off fast. Slow gains ever since and they haven't stopped.

UEFA was only chasing 2 cards too for the most part. F1 seems to be even better with both short term (Hamilton) and long term (rookie cards of everyone else) potential.

I'm far from a pumper - but I don't see downside with F1. Seems to be either a rip now and move singles for huge money, or hold sealed for a long term sale. I don't see perks in selling boxes sealed at the moment, especially with the flood to come in the next week or two. Unless you are a flipper desperate to pay off credit cards.

I agree - to be clear, I see no real downside either. Could sealed come under pressure a little bit in the very near-term? Maybe, but with any reasonable timeline, these are golden.

No idea if this will have any effects, but I think there are a lot less F1 boxes that are going to be in the USA then the UEFA's. So on the main ebay site, you'll probably have fewer posted then what you see with the UEFA.

(I guess it also depends on where all the bots are from for the UK release)

Judging by the tweets, the same bot(s?) that got uefa also got f1 so there shouldn’t be any change in geographic availability

I think we could also see A LOT more people holding this product as opposed to UEFA. I personally sold all 4 UEFA boxes I got:

1. WAY WAY WAY WAY too soon
2. WAY WAY WAY too soon
3. WAY WAY too soon
4. WAY too soon.

I have two F1 Sapphire boxes that I will likely hold as a result, and I'm guessing a lot of people are in the same boat. Wonder how a lot of holding will impact prices both short and long term.

Once the group breakers figure out how to break this thing, the sky is the limit.

F1 delivered today. I learned my lesson from UEFA and I'm going to shove it in the deepest corner of my closet.

UEFA sapphire is down $500 from its peak. Now selling for less than UEFA Chrome on StockX. I still have my boxes though.

If everyone and their mother are saving sealed products, the value long term won’t be there. The only reason past products are doing well because people were ripping and typically not holding. I don’t think products like retail prizm and select will hold long value sealed.

So for someone that knows more than me about F1. What is the strategy here? Hold for a while? Is there some big event anytime soon to target that could maximize the hype?

Hey man, you do what you want. Rip or open, there's no wrong decision between the two. If ripping into boxes is more enjoyable to you than stashing/selling, by all means go for it. Enjoy the hobby the way you want to!

The wrong decision that I made with UEFA was selling it wayyyyy too early.

The holding sealed wax for huge return bubble will bust soon. The main reason sealed wax has had such a huge return over the past couple years is because tons of it was ripped at a reasonable cost especially by breakers.

If everyone holds, the market will never move up as much as we hope or it will take allot longer. UEFA Sapphire was under $500 for a couple weeks and was being ripped like crazy, that’s what impacted the rise the most

This is such an interesting concept to me.

If everyone is holding product sealed, there will be less singles available. Less singles usually means higher singles prices. Higher singles prices usually means higher sealed prices.

I absolutely LOVE this hobby right now!

The Spanish GP is this weekend and the market seems to trend a bit higher during the race weekends. If the season turns out to be a tight race between Hamilton and Verstappen, then I can see that excitement driving values much higher from here. Keep in mind, it's a long season with 19 more races after the Spanish GP and the last race in Abu Dhabi Dec 10-12.
