Regarding the damage - I listed it in the description
I know the person who sold it for 12K has a pic of it and also mentions it

We both marked the cards as Very Good

And anytime someone made an offer I explained to them about the damage

It did scare people away - but some people accepted it and obviously I sold mine

Was a good box and am super happy!

You can change your username on ebay. Anyone who has you bookmarked will still have it. My original id was ironman8. I was one of the original sellers on ebay. My F1 Sapphire box has arrived........ I want to rip it because I never get to rip product anymore due to the insane prices.....

But those insane prices say the smart move is to hold it and sell for more than $1,000 soon. I quick sold my UEFA Sapphire at like $450 per box before they just exploded. I feel I need to put it away and then sell in a bit

I had the same issue. I ripped and got a pretty dreadful box for my reward, but I went with the "I only paid 99" logic. Not sound economic advice, but it was enough for me to rip it. I figured there is no way I'd buy a Hamilton base rookie, but I'd really like one so I took my shot at pulling one.

That was my thinking somewhat. You only get a few reasonably priced hobby lottery tickets in a year. The safe bet is selling them, but I've always been a bit of a gambler which might not be as profitable, but is more fun than looking at unopened wax and shipping it off. I better go hide the rest of my Trevor Lawrence boxes before I listen to my own advice again.

This is exactly what went through my head. Could I use the ~$700 profit? Sure. Do I love gambling? Yes. How many can't lose products do you get to open in a year? Not many

My singles are selling and I have a ton of interest in a lot of my cards...much more breadth of interest in the various cards across the set than when UEFA Sapphire came out where most of the singles demand was the RCs and the two superstars

So far I am seeing pent up demand for lack of sets out there for F1 unlike soccer which was established before....I think that is the main driver along with success of UEFFA Sapphire in the recent past as a floor marker

I was wrong.

I’m glad, as I have multiple boxes coming, but I am perplexed right now. I’m glad you are having success, but I know for a fact that there are not as many singles selling as there were with UEFA. I have my spreadsheets from that release and the value was SCREAMING like I hadn’t seen in a bit. I can compare what happened then with this and it just doesn’t add up. Many, many less singles selling but box prices are way, way higher. Hence the comment about hype vs actual large scale demand.

Love the condescending reply simply because I voiced an opinion different than yours. If that makes you feel better though, have at it. I base my opinions on market behavior and actual data. Our current card market can be wacky. No one is always right nor always wrong. But I have been around a long time and have a very good track record. Again, I’m happy the prices are up, more money for me. I just can’t explain why it’s happening at this point.
