Another true point. I've seen people give up and sell decades of cards.

As for the kid argument. I'm not a guy who's all in to kids. But as for kids into cards. They need to be apart of the hobby. I've seen people say I've seen kids at card shows. I'm not talking silver spoon, trust fund, Wahlberg kids.

They don't count. I'm talking about your middle class kid, hell any kid not with no rich daddy. I wouldn't be here right now if I didn't start when I was 6 years old.

Panini is talking about stickers, and sime kid box in LCS shops. That's a half ass attempt. Any good business takes care of all demographics.

Botters don’t care. When card bubble burst they will move to next item. They aren’t collectors, they are profiteers. Whatever makes money will be botted. Look at gpus.

These guys bot pools, toys, and really anything with the smallest amount of demand. I agree many will go, but many will stay because of Gary Vee. They've gotten into it. Are they collectors nope. They're wannabe investors and entrepreneurs.

The card market has gotten too valuable.

The only solution is for Topps to start making stuff that is only worth MSRP. How do they do that? Make a billion different sets and increase print run like they are doing. You can buy as much 2021 Series 1 or 2020 Update at or near MSRP as your heart desires. Just like Archives and probably will be for Bowman Inception or whatever garbage sets they cook up.

But you don't want those. You want Chrome, you want Bowman Draft, you want Sapphire. Well so does everyone else and everyone has collectively decided they are worth alot more than the price they are being sold for by a retailer
This isn't true for me...I have never bought on the secondary market..I can't find it..won't buy it. And I do buy Series 2021, Update and Bowman retail..so please stop generalizing everyone because there are plenty of collectors who won't buy overinflated retail either

It could happen much sooner. You should at least whet someone's appetite for something for them to be tempted by the idea of getting more at markup. If you never opened a single Prizm blaster because you weren't able to find one, maybe you'll figure out you don't need any after all.

Exactly! Most sensible collectors won't buy off the secondary market. The secondary market is built by fomo, breakers, and newbies. Also some people out there who invest in wax.

This is pretty much me completely as well. Only buy retail at MSRP. Not buying any hobby stuff at crazy markups. Happy to do the in-store chase when I can and if I don't find anything, it's still fun to get out and hunt some.

And he's also wrong that all we want is higher end chrome and prizm...we can't even get SCORE FOOTBALL or Hoops Basketball..the lowest of the lowest end so it's not like I'm snubbing my nose at retail that I can find. For Baseball it's a bit easier to find stuff but for football and basketball..good luck getting Score much less Prizm.

I dislike the "bot people" as much as anyone here. I just don't think they're doing anything wrong. Anywhere you have easy, essentially risk free money to be legally made, you're going to have a scramble between a TON of people to think of the best way to get the piece of that pie. That's capitalism. It's legal and no one is being cheated by what they do. And no, just because you can't buy a box for 1/4 of market value straight from Walmart does not mean you are being cheated.

Maybe it's just me but I believe skirting rules like account limits IS unethical..I don't see how it's not. That's not "working harder" "hustling harder...it's finding a way to exploit a fair way for people to get stuff.

You misunderstood. I'm saying that if there was a box that is worth $80 on Ebay and you could buy it for $40 you would. And if you wouldn't, 99.9% of people on here would. That's how a market works

Unfortunately, the market has declared your hobby worth alot more than MSRP

So skirting limits just because you can isn't being cheated? Sorry, I disagree

I'm all for capitalism done the right way. You wanna camp out at Target for 3 days before a drop..go for it. Before limits you wanna stay at Target all day and clear the shelf..go nuts. It's when you start doing things underhandedly and unfairly that I start having a problem with things. It's the scumbags that bribe vendors or employees..the ones who stab each other in the back and take product after promising to split, those who let their friends show up 10 minutes before Target and cut in line and yes Bots who skirt limits that I have a problem with.

You not being able to buy a box of cards at 25% of market value from a retailer is not being "cheated", no.

It's legal and no one is being harmed. It's not a harm to not be able to buy what is essentially a piece of entertainment at an under market price. It's not food, it's not an essential good. You are more than welcome to pay fair market price for the same box.

I'm trying to think on the "site rules" thing. Where is the line drawn on what's an acceptable site or store rule to not follow? Every single line of Terms of Service must be followed to the T or you're being unethical? I have no idea what's in there but considering most are the length of a book I'd imagine there's some silly rules in there that no one would consider unethical if broken

So sick of people defending bot people. It's not a real hustle. It's a bunch of tools obsessed with Gary Vee. It's unethical and getting close to becoming illegal. Bot groups keep hitting all areas. At some point the time will come. I'm thinking big picture and not just about cards.

The greed they have will come back to them. They've flourished this year because of people at home and shopping online.

I don’t mind gary, but i remember one of his podcasts or whatever it was where he was completely jacked that he ripped some guy off at a garage sale for pennies on the dollar on some cards.

Some people might say you know what, you have more here than you realize, let me give you a fair price but not Gary. He took the cards and ran and started bragging about how much money he made off the guy. It’s the same mentality. Out to get mine.

The sad thing is that Topps gave him a set to curate.

That was an honest question because I don't know the answer. I get where you're coming from and I know your opinion is common. Just wondering where the line is drawn

Target for examples intention is for one person not to check out more than 1 time online, same as that is their intention in store.

They may or may not catch you in the store if you change your clothes 100 times and loop the line, but they’ve clearly stated their policy prohibits that. That’s the same thing as bypassing their security and checking out 100 times online. you are basically saying if they can’t catch you it’s fine to violate the policy.

You nailed it exactly. It's a policy, and they have banned accounts for breaking the policy. So how is that ethical breaking a companies policy. It's like saying the guys are okay going into the backroom dressed like the vendor to get the boxes to buy. Bot groups are cheating the system. BBase31's argument makes no sense.

I won’t buy from flippers in the secondary market either. I believe people that buy from them are just as bad as they are. They help support the foolishness.
