Nickname for his 2019 Topps Series 2 #410 that is horizontal. A few of his Topps Chrome and Stadium Club are horizontal too.

Idk what the expected number was but it seems like that is a solid price for a non-auto at his stage in career. I know its /5 but its not the auto or 1st bowman and buyers up in the 5 figures are few and far between.

Just comping against other cards lately, at 28,800 its going for Mantle Rookies, 09 Trout Autos, GMMT 92 SP Jeters, etc.

IMO thats a massive amount for a non-auto RC of a 22yr old

The $ matches the talent - card and Player both with a very high potential ceiling .....

Agree.

If hes healthy through 2022, I think an mvp is very much a strong possibility and a chance at a WS title. It’s all there.

That’s the big question, can he continue going out there everyday

oh i mean i dont doubt that the card has that value, Im just saying this is isnt even the highest tier parallel. Its not 1st Auto, TC RC Auto, or Sapphire.

This is the Base TC parallel. I dont doubt it could double over time, but at this point 25K is a haul lol

I think health is definitely #1. Right behind it is cleaning up the defense though. He doesnt need to be the best defender in the game, just needs to avoid being one of the worst.

per Fangraphs, of the 43 players who have 50ABs at SS in 2021, Tatis has the worst defensive advanced metrics. in 2019/2020 there were 52 players who had 200ABs at SS... he ranks 32nd in defense but 5th overall in 75% of the games of the top 4.

He can be the best bat in the league at SS and be just average in the field and be a yearly MVP candidate, but hes gotta cool off on the errors and get back toward the middle of the pack defensively (Which i think he can do if he can slow things down some)

Hard to triangulate a 'fair/expected' value on a /5. An orange did $14K, so if Reds are ballpark 2x an Orange, that seems fair.
I was looking at it in context of the $18k the Red Set Pristine did a few months ago. The regular TC colors have done 3x-4x what the Chrome Complete Set have, but this one '"only" did 1.5x (granted, Tatis' market was different in March).

TV guys think it might have been on the double play try earlier. Machado threw a bunted ball to 2B to get lead runner... Tatis tried to get double play and possibly injured himself. Was an awkward throw
