Default Where are you staying? Hotel/Lodging Thread

I'd figured I'd start this because I am in the midst of trying to figure out where I'm going to stay. Honestly it'd be fun to stay where a bunch of other members will be at, might be easier to organize some off hours trading and hanging.

I've been looking at the Hyatt Regency Rosemont (not O'hare) due to it being a mile away but well over half as cheap as the ones super close (would rather use that extra 3-400 at the show.

Happy to hear thoughts/opinions!

Hyatt Regency. Booked super early. Prefer it because of the skywalk.

There will be trading going on at every hotel, don't worry.

Hilton Rosemont. Right next to the convention center. Booked it back in January!

Looks like it is 45 minute drive and wondering if really worth it to stay downtown?

I think it depends on what you want to be doing after hours. For me, I will probably try to catch one music performance or a game if possible one of the nights, but otherwise the other two I'll be trading and hanging with fellow National goers, so for me it makes way more sense to be closer to the convention center.

But if you wanna go out into the city every night, would make sense to get something in the heart of the city.

Different strokes for different folks!

I guess it depends on how much time you plan to spend at the show and how many days. Im spending my days at the show & evenings hanging w/ friends in the hobby (near the show). If I wanted to visit Chicago in the summer...I'll just visit Chicago.

There's multiple I believe in Chicago so always be mindful of that and everyone's definition of "close" is different. A quick google maps search will tell you.

Party's at the Country Inn & Suites fellas, it's right across the... airport. BTW, if you're staying in the city consider riding the L Blue line train that goes directly to O'Hare, right next to the Convention Center - better/cheaper than Uber or being stuck in traffic and paying for parking.

I've never been to a National where I stay all 5 days (this will be my first). The other 2 times, I was DEAD tired by the end of each day and my backpack was heavy with stuff.

I'll look around, but not looking to party or anything crazy like that!

My house (about 40 miles away in the NW 'burbs). For anyone staying in downtown Chicago, your best (cheapest) bet is hopping on the (CTA) Blue Line out to Rosemont.

As a lifelong Chicagoan, I normally really advocate the Blue Line for getting back and forth from O'Hare. However, in this case, most commuters will be carrying loads of cash and very expensive cards. I would advise against it. Keep that in mind when deciding where to stay.

You could stay near the show and just do a 1 day visit to Chicago, or do a split stay.
