1990's Mariner's Photo Day help - OC Griffey Image Included!

Wanted to see if any of you could help me identify the date of this photo. Some of you may have even been there with me! I remember going onto the field and taking this picture (many others as well but they seem to be lost to time) and shaking hands when I was younger but wasn't sure what day or even year it was. I have a stub from 1997 but I'm thinking this was earlier, maybe 95ish.

The AL ERA leaders in the background that I could make out, figured some may know year based off that alone.

Guzman TOR 2.98
Alvarez CWS 3.51
Appier KC 3.52
Unknown CWS 3.56
Unknown CLE 3.6

Any help is appreciated. Wish I had kept all my stubs!

Looks like it's 1996, as the final ERA leaders were:

1. Guzman • TOR 2.93
2. Hentgen • TOR 3.22
3. Nagy • CLE 3.41
4. Fernandez • CHW 3.45
5. Appier • KCR 3.62
6. Hill • TEX 3.63
7. Clemens • BOS 3.63
8. Pettitte • NYY 3.87
9. McDonald • MIL 3.90
10. Belcher • KCR

12. Alvarez 4.22

It doesn't seem like it's 1997, as there is an article and the billboard jumbotron ads don't match your photo

Thank you! My stub is June 15, 1997 not July 20th. That's a bummer, but will look prior to see if I can figure out the date.

Yep looks like 1996 based on the partially viewable ERA leaders. To be more precise this is from the last week of July in 1996 based on what Guzman, Alvarez, Appier and Tapani's ERAs were.

Juan Guzman ERA 2.90 as of 7/26
Wilson Alvarez ERA 3.51 as of 7/26
Kevin Appier ERA 3.52 as of 7/23 until 7/28

Mariners photo day was Sunday 7/20/1997, so I'll assume it was on a Sunday in 1996 as well, which makes it Sun 7/28/96 vs Tigers, L 14-6

7/28/1996 seems correct. Given it is a day game based on the time in the background, and that is the only day game within the ERA time frames.

Thank you everybody! I really thought it would be an easy search but not much comes up.

Looks like the Tiger's put on a nice hitting display that day, wish I could say I remember it all, but I can now print out the box score! Thanks again!
