Man I love this Hawks team and hope they can keep Collins. Also really hope Hunter can turn things around injury wise but I fear for his long term future. Not sure on Reddish yet. Wonder if he'll be back for the next series. Read he was close.

I honestly don't know how Atlanta keeps pulling it out. Maybe it's that 2011 Mavs juju?

Oh well...whatever the outcome, this season is a nguyen and exceeded everyone's expectations.
I've though a bit about how many people are surprised Atlanta is doing so well. I think it starts honestly with underestimating their frontcourt. The tandem of Collins/Capela is as legit as they come in my opinion. Both are terrific rebounders for their positions, and elite pick & roll guys too ... And they're working with a great pick & roll passer in Trae Young. Just those couple things really sets them apart from some other teams in my opinions. They they have shooters outside of those guys which make them tough to cover. In a way, Hawks are the sort of team that you could argue is greater than the sum of their parts.

At the very least, I don't think either squad will be steamrolled. Both came off grueling 7 game series', and both rolling with renewed confidence.

Hawks been playing with house money. I think they let it ride and end up taking it in seven.

I'm unsure where else they can turn at this point.
Right. Been there, done that, so now what? Hire another one? Maybe being on a team without such high expectations and an elite player like Embiid to funnel the offense to, he'd start to let it fly due to necessity and a lack of pressure. I'm not sure what happened to the rookie version of Ben Simmons that was willing to attack without it needing to be set up by a fast break or an open lane. That dude was a blast to watch.

Only dbags left in the playoffs are Marcus Morris and Pat Beverly.

So put on your tinfoil hat here...

Remember when Ben missed 4 games because of "non-covid illness" ealier in the year?...

He had just come off a month in Feb where he averaged 21-8-8.

I honestly wonder if some time in March/April he had some sort of mental lapse where he needed to take time away because he was out out whack.

To start the year, by month he shot 61%, 65%, and 70% from the line.

Then things went haywire. I think the dude has some issues,

I expect Collins to be much more involved offensively this series ... People don't realize how great of an interior defender Embiid is - Hawks had a couple over the top alle-oops but in general it was really hard to attack the paint against the Sixers in the halfcourt ... Different story against Bucks. Lopez can't keep up with Collins/Capela in a pick & roll consistently.

And Doc's comment, too.

@KyleNeubeck
Rivers on if he still believes Simmons can be a title winning point guard: "I don't know the answer to that question right now."

.. You have to just accept the best trade offer, low or not, and move on. You can't bring him back.
