An order I received back from my submitter 10 days ago does not show up in the CSG Cert lookup. Anyone else have any issues with that?

Mkay.
It's about value for the service. If it's not worth waiting for or paying up to get graded now, I'm fine moving it raw. Maybe it changes later, but this is the current reality. Different people have different preferences.

But you continue to do you.

Also, when I submitted, I requested USPS Registered Mail return shipping, which is how the first part of the partial order was returned. The second half is being sent UPS.

That's good to hear. Are they thick enough to handle all of the various patch cards?

My cards are still in "Scheduled for grading" status but I just got charged a $1k bill.
Is there a way to see my invoice or figure out exactly which order I'm being charged for? I have several pending and also want to know if I got the discount for $150 from membership

You may have to call. They messed up and didn't deduct my $150 credit on my first order. I called and spoke to accounting and they got everything straightened out.

My order delivered to them 4/13 was just logged last week. You will be at least 3 weeks behind that, probably more.

Are they 60 business days after when packages are logged or that's how far behind logging is?

per Twitter, CSG is shutting down a bit early today to let their employees prepare for hurricane Elsa.

I've been high on CSG and still am. I think they have a place in the hobby that will only grow, but man they are brutal with anything not ultra-modern. My last order had about 70 cards older than 2015. TWO of them got 9.5s. I appreciate them being tough graders, but it's almost like they don't know what to look for on older cards? I sent a comparable batch to PSA (even recently- when people thing they're tougher) and got about 25 gems on a 150 card order.

It's at the point where it's going to make me stop subbing with them for anything other than ultra-modern. Even without PSA, I'd rather pay 2x for SGC and get a better gem rate and better resale value.

This definitely sounds like I'm sour about low grades, but after subbing and receiving hundreds of cards from them as well as PSA and SGC, I truly feel like it's an issue with how they grade anything older than like 2017. Anyone else seeing a pattern like this with them?

Funny because that's almost opposite of their comics arm. They can be very generous on older comics and sometimes they're super harsh on ultra-moderns. Their biggest issue on that side is the lack of consistency, though, and it's why their biggest competitor is gaining traction.

This is not good for CSG. They are pricing themselves out, but really thicker cards is what BGS really differentiate itself. PSA is super hard on thicker cards. This is a cash grab for sure.

I had to call and finally take my card off file. I just cannot trust them to run a business consistently based off these past few months. They say one thing but I am consistently left holding the bag yet they get paid all the same.

100%. I sent in about 40 cards, all with subs, from the 1980's. Out of al the subgraded, I only got one 10 subgrade! Brutal. I hand selected these to send in. One card got a 9.5 overall, the rest were mostly between 8 and 9. Incredibly difficult grading. Their scale is much closer to BGS, where a 10 is basically impossible.

This makes me even happier to have received back my CSG 10, only missed on surface with 9.5, of 2001 UD Tiger Woods RC. The green border card really looks good. I would lean toward them for any green highlight cards. Color match.

I set up at the monthly show in Clearwater, about 50 miles from CSG. One of the graders saw my CSG slabs in the showcase and introduced himself as one of the graders (apparently others graders were also at the show). I spent over 30 minutes talking to him and I learned a couple of things that I can actually share (along with a bunch of stuff I cannot). First there are around 20-30 graders in the sports card section and if they had the bodies they would gladly double that number. He looked at a couple of my cards that I could not figure out why they received the grades they did, which leads to the second thing. Surface on the back side appears to count as much as the front. Basically if, on an ultra modern card, you get a lower than expected grade and cannot see the reason, it is almost certainly a surface issue. Third, the AI is real. I cannot say any more than that, even if I wanted to. Fourth, people are sending in some real crap cards to grade: common junk wax cards with multiple obvious creases as an example. Fifth, they are aware of certain bugs in the system that they are trying to fix. These will address some of the complaints that have been mentioned in this forum.

Patience with them is going to be key. If any of you know someone who lives here, or is willing to relocate down here, they are definitely hiring for all areas.
