Thought that Robert Downey Jr. would have a cameo appearance in the movie? The post-credit scene is interesting though, especially after watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Wondering now how the connection will be made.

Saw it today. I feel like they wasted Taskmaster in this one and overall the movie seemed to run a bit long with some pacing issues in the middle of the film. I also generally enjoy the humor found in Marvel movies but here it pretty much fell flat. I don’t think the cast had very good chemistry with each other.

Can we do spoilers now? Because I want really want to respond to this. For now I will say that I agree with you that Taskmaster was wasted.

I think it's fair to give it through the weekend first.

Fair enough.

One question that is really eating at me though. Alexei appears to lie when saying he fought Captain America in 82 or 83. We all know that in the MCU Cap was still frozen at that time. However he later asks Nat if Cap ever talks about him. These two things do not compute. Unless... I'll let the mind wander.

I was thinking about that point. Maybe it’ll be retconned so he fought Isaiah Bradley?

I was referring to the appearance of Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Val and wondering how her appearance at both the Falcon/Winter Soldier TV series (introduced the U.S. Agent) and now the Black Widow movie, along with her potential appearance in future MCU shows, might connect together. I have a feeling that her role will become larger as time goes by.

Well Val was supposed to appear first in Black Widow and then in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But COVID happened so they flip flopped.

Many seems to think that Val is attempting to form The Thunderbolts otherwise known as the Dark Avengers. For what entity she is trying to accomplish this for is to be determined.

Maybe Val’s a Skrull? It used to seem clear where the MCU was heading, now I’m not sure. Secret invasion, Kree- Shiar war or maybe annihilation?

Just saw it. I really liked it. I thought it was overall a good marvel movie. I have a couple of nitpicks but they were small. Overall I give it an 8/10. I enjoyed it.

I have watched it twice so far - I really enjoyed it!
I liked it a lot better than Captain Marvel, personally.

I thought David Harbours character was fun and Florence Pugh stole the entire movie (she and Scarlet had good chemistry to me)

We watched it this weekend and enjoyed it. I think the fact that we were just able to watch a new big box office movie made it good. I did feel the usual Marvel humor was a bit forced, but it did not deter from enjoying the movie. Clearly they are setting up multiple stories from this (as does everything Marvel).. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10, a good way to get back to new movie watching!!!

I think it was just an ego thing. He was lying about fighting Captain America, but was obsessed with hoping that Captain America knew who he was as if it would help give him credence.

Great movie and everything you come to expect from the MCU.

Time for a Marvel/Star Wars movie crossover.

Jaxxon/Rocket Raccoon is the crossover that makes the most sense. Don’t let any of the rest of the character universes merge… just let these 2 characters meet up (maybe throw in Howard the Duck too).

Beth's savage diss of the MCU movies at the start of last night's "Rick & Morty" precisely coinciding with the release of "Black Widow", given all its delays, was surely an accident, yet still seems like genius.

Good stuff, too bad I can't repeat it.
There'll be GIFs of it soon enough.

Well, that's the first half of it, the setup.
The second line is the punchline.

The best joke of the movie was her sister asking her about the Black Widow pose and then calling her a poser.
