Couple of facts:

1. Luka is 22
2. His attitude and body language when things aren’t going his way needs to improve big time.

I think this is the greatest area that Kidd and Kokoskov can and will help over the next few years

Luka off season watch begins. He can now work on being in shape for the season. What are the odds he will be an MVP favorite? Watching him play is fun. At 22 his best years are ahead of him. He has already done things that the greats of the game did not do until they were in their mid-20’s. Long hold is the right play I. My opinion, although that depends on where you got into the game.

Wasn't Luka the MVP favorite going into last season? If he's not the pre-season favorite, he's got to be top 3.

I agree long term hold is the play, but I'm thinking about cashing out a little so the other Luka's I'm holding are at minimal/zero cost.

0. He's likely going to be a candidate, but unless the team gets better, I don't think he'll have any chance of getting the MVP.

He is the MVP favorite right now per Vegas.

Smart move. Was trying to pick up my PSA 10 red chronicles elite for a very good price but was denied. So I bought a BGS 9.5 for half that price. If I get the PSA 10 cool. If not, oh well!

He's the favorite, but I also agree that he's not going to win it unless the Mavs improve. They have to show they're at least a borderline contender.

If this was a few years ago and he was putting up nightly triple doubles, he'd definitely be an MVP contender regardless of team success. But Russ ruined that.

This. MVP winners typically have their team in the top 4 of the conference and I don't think the Mavs have a good enough team around Luka right now. I think Trae Young has a better chance than Luka right now just because his team is poised to be in the top 4 in the East.

Curry finished third on a team that didn’t even make the playoffs. Jokic won on a team that was borderline top 4 even before the Murray injury. Luka can absolutely win this year.

That wasn't the question. The question was "what are the odds he will be MVP favorite?" and Kobefan said 0. That is wrong. He is the current favorite. Doesn't mean he will win but his statement was wrong.

Well, I'm not speaking on gambling term, since I don't do sports gambling. I only assume his odds of being top ranked MVP by nba.com. Guess I misunderstood his question.

I think Luka will be an incredible chance at the MVP this season.

1. He'll enter the season in shape and not a bit chubby and off an ankle injury like last season.
2. The Mavs didn't do a whole lot in free agency, but sometimes that's a great thing.
3. Zinger surely can give more
4. Kidd should bring a more modern approach than Rick..

I think they're a top 4 team this season and he'll have the numbers.

No Jamal, Denver will be right there but not a guarantee

I don't see why they can't be top 4.

We also don't know how good the Dubs will be. I doubt Klay plays b2bs.

I don't even think it's that much of a hot take. They were 5th this season and didn't they start pretty slow? And got hammered by Covid..

The "Luka has a terrible supporting cast" is a tad overblown. I think they need a banger instead of Maxi. But he has his moments.
