![]() His NOW card is always going to be relevant, sought after, and highly prized. It’s his first Topps card that I’m aware of, and that’s going to prove to be a big deal, in my opinion. - The NOW card came out in 2020. - Other Hamilton Topps NOW cards came out in 2020. - Dynasty came out in February of 2021, (different calendar year, 5 months later, and after several Topps NOW Hamilton cards). - Chrome came out in April of 2021, (different calendar year, 7 months later, and after several Topps NOW and Topps Dynasty Hamilton cards). Chrome might end up being the most sought after, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it. Given release dates, (different calendar years), and the number of Topps cards that came out before Chrome, I know what I’m betting on. |

For me it's Chrome and Sapphire. I'm not a big fan of cards that are not packed pulled and to each their own but print to order cards just lessen them and the hobby imo. Had the Topps Now card been something more significant it might add value and quite honestly I think the #9 is a much more significant card if you were a collector of Topps Now as that is when he broke Schumacher's record. Also, 1913 cards is quite a large print run.
I don't care about what was released first and these are all 2020 season cards anyway even if some were released in 2020 and some in 2021 but even so if you make that argument if Turbo Attax came out before the Topps Now then it would make it the 1st major card released anyway. Chrome and Sapphire are the best cards and it's not even close for me. |

- Some want the first card made, (if it is convenient for them. Meaning...if it's a brand they like). - Some say Topps NOW cards are too limited to be generally accepted as "The card" when only a few hundred or less are printed. Then some say 1900 are too many. (Again, convenience). - People used to say "online exclusives will never be generally accepted", but now they say Sapphire is king. (Convenience) - People still say Topps NOW will never be accepted, yet some cards print in the tens of thousands, so popularity is growing. I miss the days of being able to pick up NOW cards of top sports figures and know the print runs would be extremely limited. Hobby interests have changed over time, and I would guess that will continue. |

For me 2006 Futera is his true rookie card, he was in F2 car (he had professional contract) but it is an F1 product.
The back of the card

I don't understand why the Topps 2020 cards are classed as rookies. Cards from his first season in F1 (2007), should be the most valuable in my opinion. I've seen the Pro 2.0 card which has 2007-08 on the back, but has been labelled as 2008. This would make it a second year card. There's also another Hamilton card labelled 2007-08. The true rookies are the 2007 cards.
The 2006 Futera card should hold a premium, however, he was in F2 at the time. I have a few cards from 2007 editions which I will send for grading. I presume his cards will shoot up in price dramatically if he wins a record 8th F1 title. Senna will always be my favourite and I believe that Prost is undervalued. He was a great driver. |

Everyone is labeling and buying chrome as his RC, so I'll go with whatever the money says. Last edited by LC2nine10; 08-12-2021 at 11:25 AM. |

Topps Chrome by a wide margin. Everything else is a niche product.

I understand the appeal of the wide-release pack-pulled product, but it is just so weird to me to consider the recent cards a Hamilton "rookie". There was recent speculation that he might retire prior to his signing the new contract... he has cards available from 15 years ago... but these 2021 releases are his "rookie"?

If the 2006 card is in F2 I guess you could do like baseball that would be classed as an XRC which will hold the highest value and be the king of his rookies then the 2009 Top Trump would be his F1 RC after that the SI Card, I don't consider anything in 2020 to be his rookie

The 2009 SI for kids is so scarce in any sort of decent grade. Regardless of the RC argument folks will eventually catch on to how valuable it actually is.

Do you think a Hamilton card from 2007 graded between a PSA 8-10 would be a Goldin Auctions job? Usually I consider sending cards over $30000 there. |

I've heard collectors are offering well above that for raw Futera's.

2006 Futera Hamilton PSA 9 went for $312k at Goldins last night. Thought it had a decent shot at $100k but it ended up blowing away all estimates. The publicity will be great for the sport.
